I had a couple of the AC15's, really nice amps. I have done a bit of work on these making them sound better too. It's a 2014 Johnny Marr model that I picked up used in the US while I was over there for work a couple of years ago. Absolutely love it and it's the guitar I go to most frequently.

Undoubtedly the worst $1k you could put into your pursuit of all things musical. They look as dire as I expect them to be, and I can't believe that a music retailer would carry them.

I always file off the aluminium "stop" that prevents the Bigsby arm from traveling all the way back over the strings (like a Strat arm can). I find it hard to use unless I do this. That's an interesting idea. I don't remember that stop being there on the Gretsch licensed tailpiece I had, ...

Interesting. Did you notice a difference in tension/resistance, or just the arm height?

Update: Playing more and more, and I'm just not feeling right about the tension of the spring. I gigged with a 6122 for a couple of years, years ago, and the Bigsby on that was quite soft and didn't need you to lean on it at all.
