Re: Advice wanted: Gibson r8

Oh this is Chopper. Had a little hissy fit on the forum earlier this year. He bought it off another forumite and didn't appreciate us suggesting that he was flipping for profit (although with very limited success). I'd personally steer clear. Yeah he bought it from me, I sold it to him for a god pr...

Re: Ceriatone Amps

They seem to great amps that are very well made, I've owned the SSS 100w. Customer service from Nick was top notch too, no complaints and would happily purchase from them again

Re: YouTube goodness

Man she was good. Again, another artist I grew up with but never really appreciated when they were around. She is 20 years old here, I can't imagine me knowing any of these chords at that age (hell, probably even now), let alone linking them all together seamlessly and singing over the top of them :...

Re: Bassists - Great Tone

Pete Trewavas instantly comes to mind, always interesting without ever overplaying. Always seems to have a nice smooth tone and he seems to like alternating between playing with a pick or fingers

Re: YouTube goodness

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS6lMx8uxFQ His new album, Council Skies, is excellent. Yeah, this is great and I'm only about halfway through it. So much to enjoy, from his stories about recording with Marr and his LP that he wrote 'Stand By Me' on I feel like I have a permanent smile on my face. ...

Re: Megadeth Megadeth

I was into them when Marty was handling guitar duties, Id just started college when Youthanasia came out and I think I pretty much played that CD until it was scratched to buggery. Always liked the tightness of their playing and dryness of their sound; back in the UK in the mid 90's you were either ...

Re: Neural DSP Quad Cortex / Archetype Plugins Thread

Nick Johnston was using one of these last night running into a Laney, sounded massive. I’ve had GAS for one of these units for a while but I feel my under utilisation of it would completely fail to justify the price

Re: Nick Johnston Guitar Clinics March 2023

Great to spend a few hours and a few beers with Jeremy, so good. Nick is just a monster player all round and he conversed well with us throughout, interesting and inspiring stuff despite him being off the scale depressingly good Got him to sign my Uni-Vibe pedal so please ban me if I ever try to sel...

Re: Blues Breaker pedal users

So I finally spent some time with Reg's pedal this morning, it's a goodie and sounds just like how I remember my old Bluesbreaker. I found setting the Volume at around 3 O'clock and the Boost down to 9 O'clock was kinda where I like it for when you step on it coming off a rhythm/clean sound; Tone st...

Has to be his funkiest album, the first track gives you a good idea of where things are at. Pure funk blues gold, and man what a voice he had on him
