Re: A Strat I can live with

Looks lovely, also looks to be in pretty fine condition for something that is 50+ years old. Does it feel like it’s been played tons or it’s had stages in its lifetime where it may have been stowed away and not touched much?

Either way, nice job with the refret and congrats on a nice acquisition

The clone is MikeC's. NZ Post damn near lost it along the way!
No doubt will be a great pedal in its own right!

Re: Effect of changing room temperature on guitars - at home?

I usually have my Strat and an LP out, those temperature fluctuations would be similar to mine I guess as they're in the front room which is not usually heated. I don't notice much if any effect on either guitar, very occasionally the top E might go a tad sharp but that's about it

Great to hear you are still going Steve. You have fixed a couple of my Fender amps before, bloody nice guy who does great work at a very fair price. Hope you’re doing well

For me I found the Katana very underwhelming, I’ve had the 50w and the 100w and neither made my ball sack tingle

Re: Advice wanted: Gibson r8

Most of the Standard's I've had were around the $3k mark, but that was a few years back. Most second hand ones seem to be $500-$1k higher priced than that nowadays

There was another R7 Goldtop that went for $4900 I think, that was a few months back
