Re: Directory listing for guitar repairs, services etc.

Who's recommended for a simple action/intonation setup in East (ideally) or at a push, Central Aucks. Other guitarist in my new band just got a Gretsch which needs a mild tweaking, but the closest to him was asking $250 which seems fucking exorbitant unless I'm way off the mark... That's ridiculous...

Re: Peter Frampton

Rick Beato seems to be a big fan so Frampton pops up often on his youtube channel. I remember when I was very young (primary school?) going to my friends house and him putting on tlhis Dad's Frampton Comes Alive vinyl to show me the 'talking guitar'. Imagine Harry Styles clipping on a Les Paul and ...

Re: Anvil Amps now in Paeroa

A mate grew up in Paeroa, his parents still live there. When the right season he will bring back a big bag of lemons after a family visit, they really are exceptional.

It doesn't show up in the photo, but it's a short scale kids/travel guitar, perfect for her kids hands

NGD

Sort of  Well a NGD post on behalf of a very excited 9yr old girl anyway. I'm really quite impressed with it, I enjoy playing it myself but my daughter has already has given me the "No Dad, those are your guitars" lecture. I've also lost my little H&K practice amp, but you know, p...

Some people resolved this issue... why pay for a neck pickup and selector switch that never got used? Or a tone knob, for that matter.

Thin neck, sharkfin inlays, high output humbuckers, black everything
You forgot reverse headstock!
Apart from the inlays, I own this guitar.

Re: Orianthi

My 9 year old daughter is currently listening to some manufactured, formulaic and mass produced pop shite on her phone and I can't tell the difference between that and Orianthi's music. I don't know what she could come up with unencumbered by the great pop machine, but her songs sound like they were...

Re: Leather ….

Cut to the chase….anybody ever used or heard of using genuine leather as a substitute for tolex??? Just got rid of an old leather lounge suite as the frame was fudged but decided to strip off a fair hunk of the leather which was in ok condition. Considering using some to cover an amp headshell. Is ...

Re: Leather ….

My Greenstone of Doom is covered in leather. Looks awesome, but is a lot more susceptible to damage than tolex, one of my old cats thought it would make a great scratch post, I suspect it wouldn't have shown up anywhere near as much on tolex (if at all). So do you have something covered in catskin ...
