My 1st bass was a bitsa that I got from someone I was at school with - P-bass copy body and neck minus the frets, some EMG guitar pickup, a scratch plate cut out of a bit of clear plastic, and when I opened it up, I found the wiring was held together with masking tape. Worked ok though.

For that sort of money I'd probably look at something like a Laney Tubefusion. Marshall Valvestates and Fender Performer amps would probably be in that price range 2nd hand and are an ok amp for what I think you want them for.

you can't fool me... those girls aren't still in school. or if they are they've been held back a few years. I heard an interview with Amy Lee and she was all like y'know like oh my god like y'know? I'm not really a fan of her voice and that didn't really endear me either. I like the whole goth music...

I recently put some fender 12-52s on my Jag and Im not completely sold on the heavy strings, though between new strings and a small shim I was able to get the action lower and reduce a bit of buzz. Really like the wound G though and if I do go back to lighter strings I might go looking for those 10-...
