Re: Best Auckland set up?
Is there a particular guitar tech/luthier that is a wizard with electronics? I have an Artist strat that could really benefit from shielding, proper grounding etc. I'm happy with how the pickups sounds - just an upgrade in pots and a proper electronics install (not just found in cheap guitars but a...

Friedman's Tornado of Souls solo, super cool. Ben Eller to the rescue for all the little tips, tricks and nuances as usual.

Re: Ash Customworks stuff 2012
I'd like to thank this forum for documenting these fantastic guitars built by Ash Customworks. Earlier this year, I was looking for a guitar with P90s. I was lucky to have found this Radian Les Paul selling on Trademe by Nik (who has said he posts on NZGuitars.com). It came installed with Mr Glyn's...

But if going to all the effort, this is the model that stands out, in its various shades and forms the SL2PRO Maple Neck through Mahogany Body, including the speedy 12-16" contour Seymour Duncan TB-6 and SHN-6, lovely The trust FR1000, the Korean copy of the OG with the same metals used $2199 ...

Amazing stereo image. Doesn't reeeally do a traditional delay sound. Great if you like to get a bit weird though.

Re: NGD: Schecter Nick Johnston SSS
I don't want to take over your NGD thread, but as we're discussing the HSS version as well I just wanted to drop this in here to show you. As I said, up close the HB mod looks a bit rough, but it doesn't stand out too much tbh. Shit phone photos ahead... https://www.gordonharris.co.nz/product/13655...

Re: NGD: Schecter Nick Johnston SSS
Did they cut the pickguard to accommodate the HB? I was thinking of doing the same thing to this one. Interestingly there's a swimming pool route under the pickguard and the pickups are made by g&b from Korea who make pickups for just about everyone who builds guitars there. Agreed on the wirin...

Re: NGD: Schecter Nick Johnston SSS
I actually just picked up one of these in Atomic Coral (pink). Totally agree with everything you've stated above, it's a banger of a guitar. I'm a total Schecter convert. Mine is an HSS which has been converted from an SSS. Didn't realise this til I got it home, but it's no bother. The wiring is a ...
