Re: Re-carve a neck profile
Ive done it lots of times with fender necks. 80 grit makes short work of thinning down the thick areas, then start smothing once in about the right shape

Do you have unprocessed stems you might want to share? I'd like to have a crack at remixing

Re: Guitar dispute, anyone got a lawyer friend?
FYI this sets out the state of the law in NZ in plain terms https://www.consumerprotection.govt.nz/general-help/ways-to-buy-and-pay/private-sales-and-second-hand-goods/ You would have to establish you were misled or deceived. On the balance I don't see anything from the seller that would support a s...

Re: Fender American Strat Professional II: HSS or SSS?
On one of my strats I have HSS (JB Jr in the bridge) and the lower tone knob has been replaced with a rotary switch for coil splitting the JB - can do SSS or HSS. I almost never split the bridge or use position 2, but I'm also not at all funky

Re: Marshall SV20
I suspect they have taken a leaf from PA system design, where the speaker is less important than the overall cabinet design. In PA system world, no one gives a shit what the speaker size is, they care about how it sounds and how loud it can go. The SV20 seems to work great, loud, clear, good disper...

Re: VHT Special 6 Project
The lower the volume, the more the bright cap c11 is going to be creating top end in the tone. The tone control is a low pass filter, so that is designed to suppress high end/treble. Your settings of 4 and 6 don't suggest they were doing much to control treble which begs the question, did you try a ...

Re: Peavey Classic 50 scooby mystery
I really doubt a small fluctuation in wall voltage will turn an amp from great to crap, or even be audible at all. More likely there's some circuit issue, those classic 30/50 amps have a terrible design and are prone to many issues. I've rebuilt a few and junked the entire internals. Could be the wa...
