Re: Unidentified tuners
Wilkinson wj28 maybe? Vintage is Trevor Wilkinson's brand so they use Wilkinson hardware a lot. The "W pat P" also made me think of the Wilkinson connection. That stuff is frequently made by Jin Ho and Sung Il, 2 factories in Korea. They make quality stuff and I've used it a lot. Sung Il m...

Re: NOGD: Unexpected reunion...
That's awesome. Well done. Guitars are more than the price tag. And I can relate, last week I found a guitar of mine (that I built from scratch) for sale in Cash Converters in Panmure and bought it back. They had no idea what they had. The pickups in there are worth more than they were asking. Anywh...

Like most things, it's a modified Tube Screamer.

Re: What's on your work bench?
A morning off, a delivery of new strings, and a desire to restore the brass hardware on my 1983 Westone Thunder 1A - one of my favourite guitars of all time. The knobs, nut, bridge and saddles are solid brass. Very pleasing in the hand (and heavy) but they were a bit monged from time and tarnish. ht...

Re: Return of the Gibbons shocker thread!
So this is interesting: https://www.mylespaul.com/threads/somebody-sued-epiphone-in-china-is-this-true.482965/ Basically, a guy bought an Epiphone inspired by Gibson LP, in China, looked under the hood and it didn't look like mahogany and maple. He sent the guitar to a lab where they confirmed the ...

Re: neck pocket routing/general routing
Kerry @ Chaoz guitars could also no doubt do it, it's just routing a neck pocket. Pretty basic stuff for a regular fender style (no neck angle).

Re: What's this guitar worth? Epiphone Tony Iommi
That's the discontinued model. The current one has the binding, inlays all up the neck, and probably some other stuff I'm not wise to.

Re: NAD: Mesa Boogie Stiletto Ace
For posterity and future people googling mods for this amp here's what I've done to reduce the hardness of the high end, make the lows fuller, and add more body and aggression to the tones available. I used the amp at a jam session last night. It's a monster. Hugely versatile, quiet, well behaved i...

Re: Pedals Of Epicness
I saw that the other day. I couldn't believe it was gooped! Also, a nice mention of kiwi ingenuity there... the Pepers Pedals product! Gooped to slow down people figuring out it was just a timmy with a different EQ control ;-) Doesn't everything seem to be a tweaked variant of either a Screamer, Br...

I have a pair of 6CA7 EH tubes coming for my mesa. I've heard great things about them but haven't had a 2x el34 amp in a while to use them.
