Re: Single pickup rock machines

also had one of Ash's first Radian SG Jr's, with a single custom-wound pickup made by Adrian. Only had it for a year, in which the band i was in broke up and I foolishly sold it it to Sty, who's still go it as far as I know... i'm keen to buy back :P overmyshoulder.jog.jpg The view to my left from ...

Re: Fender New For 2021

Chrissie Hynde? That’s a stretch. I’m all good for Jason Isbell, but is he really known as a player? If so, I’ll be bringing my signature tele out next week. They seem to be putting out a lot of signature models for women, as well as people who are more known as singer songwriters rather than 'guit...

Re: Reverend does a Strat copy

I much prefer this one I gotta admit:

I'll stick with the Double Agent though. I have no need for a middle pickup.

Re: Fender New For 2021

I have a Laney Cub 12 with digital reverb, and a three thousand dollar Dr Z Maz 18 with spring reverb. While the Dr Z is a fanstastic amp, which I love dearly, the reverb on the Laney shits all over the reverb on the Dr Z. Fender Bassbreaker 15R, Vox AC10, and Fender Tonemaster amps all have digital...

Re: Reverend does a Strat copy

It really looks like "Just Another Strat". I should have prefaced that by saying that I don't feel the need for what a Stratocaster does, and I'm quite tired of seeing them and the variants of the shape, so there is a certain bias in my comments. The majority of the Reverend range looks d...

The pickups sound really good - if you can be bothered with batteries or recharging:

(I can't).

I believe so. I haven't actually tried them. I think they're rechargeable or something.

It does look super cool though, nice colour. But yeah you'd expect better from a custom made guitar right?

Reverend does a Strat copy

As both a bit of a Strat purist and a fan of Reverend guitars I'm not sure how to feel about this. One of the things I like about Reverend is the unique designs and practical innovations, plus I tend to shun Strat copies that don't say 'Fender' on them, so while I don't want to like this I actually ...

Re: Name a better tone than...

I was listening to Romeo and Juliet the other day and it made me think of this thread. Near the end of the song he comes in with an electric part, and man that's one of the best Strat tones I've ever heard. According to this article it may have been a Schecter. https://www.groundguitar.com/mark-knop...

Re: Pyramid strings

I've never tried the Pyramid guitar strings, but I stock Pyramid Violin strings as a much cheaper alternative to the more expensive Thomastik strings which are the industry standard The Violin teachers hate the pyramids and ask their students not to get them. Perhaps we guitarists are less fussy th...

Re: Emg 81 hum

Yeah it still works if it's the wrong way around. I have a phase switch on my Chibson that does exactly this on purpose, because the pickups in it are vintage style so there's only 2 conductors, meaning the only way to flip phase is to have the pickup covers and screws hot, which means they buzz if ...
