Re: UAFX Lion Safari!

Thought I'd update the safari. I'd been looking for a way to have an ideal home practice set-up based around the Lion Pedal and, a relatively light rehearsal rig. The biggest thing was to have something that when I plugged into my actual amp, I'd be close enough in tone and response not to be bother...

Re: 6g14A Showman Build

The fact is a 6g14a is pretty much not going to turn up Here and they are pricey in the states plus shipping , risk and transformer fuckery then all the trappings of a 60yr old amp. Truth! A dear old friend of mine owns a 63 showman. But he’s likely to be buried with it! I did a deal/favor for him ...

Re: Anyone Rocking Vintage Blackface?

I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, in the early ‘80s I used to run. ‘65 BF Twin Reverb…. Because it was the only one I could afford! Beautiful amp. Early ‘70s Strat into MXR distortion+ and weirdly enough, an MXR Pitch Transposer used mostly as the most expensive rack mount chorus ever! Unbelieva...

Re: lower output p90

Turn the volume down on the guitar and treble up on the amp. That is how P90's should be. That's what I do for years. Could never quite understand the treble bleed mod that everyone was going on about back in the previous decade. I generally set all vol and tone to 5, then adjust the amp to suit. T...

WellyBlues wrote: Tue Feb 06, 2024 1:28 pm Guitars are works of art that also make cool sounds. So they are better than paintings, sculptures etc. Nothing wrong with collecting them. Says the guy who can't play and is thinking about buying another one. Sigh.
To be fair though, its easier to ignore a painting if you don’t like it. :P

Re: Guitar food groups and must try guitar sounds

Worth a look at for something less common. I'm very partial to the Gibson Mini-Humbucker. Not the firebird mini HB but the original Epiphone derived model. Back in the day my bandmate had an LP Deluxe Goldtop which was lovely to play and had a great bright chimey sound compared to standard LPs. I ha...

Re: Best DAW for beginner

This cannot be overstated. There is a huge amount of community support for Reaper, so it's a great one for a noobie. That being said, Reaper users seem to be like Vegans or Cross-Fit trainers. Hard to get them to shut up about it.* *(Tongue planted firmly in cheek here) Bendy, is Reaper the DAW tha...

Re: The Velcro that’s not Velcro…?

Just be careful of the black dual lock with the white foam backing, that residue is hard to remove! The translucent SJ3560 works best from experience. The stuff I got has a translucent base. But there’s a stuff called Shellite you can get from Bunnings. Moves any kind of dirt and residue without st...

Re: The Velcro that’s not Velcro…?

Reposting lost comment from yesterday. Thanks you guys who chipped in with this thread. I finally got my head around the 3M Dual Lock stuff and the differences. Thanks JB for th Photogear link! Dropped by there and picked up 3 half meter strips. NB, the link pic shows two halves but it's actually ju...
