Re: Johnnys cabs....

That amp sounded really good into my 112 Mesa Wideboy cab with the Celestion Blue. The open back/closed back option is a good idea too.

Re: Cable soldering advice

Don't close strain relief collar until you've finished soldering. Else it melts the cable's outer insulation layer.

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?

I have two 8" 4 ohm WGS speakers coming from the USA. Thought I'd give one a go in my Champ. Why two? I did the order on my iPad and accidentally ordered two not one, bugger. If anyone is keen to buy one off me in a few weeks time send me a PM. https://i.imgur.com/wqNJpAK.png I put one of these in ...

Re: Wampler Wobbles

Sounds like an earthing issue, are the nuts on the jacks tight? I'd try it direct into the amp with two known good guitar leads and the same power supply only going into that pedal, if that doesn't improve then try a battery, if that doesn't improve then its likely something in the pedal... but the...

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?

GrantB wrote "$12?!" - yeah I know, I just did the calculation using today's USA exchange rate and the saving would have actually been $18.30 (on an item that just cost me $68.70 purchased on TM). Not worth the hassle!

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?

Lesson learned... ordered a pedal via AliExpress on 19/4/20. Now, more than 3 months later I'm waiting for a refund for non delivery. Ordered the same pedal yesterday from "stomperguitar" (TM vendor) and it showed up today! I was aiming to save about $12.00. Sometimes the savings aren't worth the co...

Re: Experience with 2020 Epiphone LP?

Welcome! I too vote for a second hand Epiphone LP which often show up on TradeMe - this will save you bigger losses on a brand newy. They are generally good guitars and play well when setup properly (like all guitars to be fair). There are many on this forum that can do it and probably someone is li...

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?

I purchased a Joyo Vintage Overdrive from AliExpress on 16 April. It's been with the "local distribution centre" since 7th of June ('effing 6 weeks). Now in dispute with them for a refund. I should have just purchased on the tarde... 2020.06.07 12:50 (GMT-7): Shipment at local distribution center 20...

What's inbound to replace the Proreverb?
Haven’t decided yet, was going to be a JTM45 but that doesn’t Look likely to happen now.
Maybe a XR250 dirt bike!! Haha, joking.....sort of.
Jeez, my vote for the dirt bike!

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?

I haven't gigged for quite a few years but for me there's just "something" about an analogue tube amp with hand wiring that gets hot and that's apart from the sound. It's like having an old classic car as opposed to a high-tech modern car. With some knowledge and a basic tool set guys like us can st...
