I recognised the amp underneath and knew it would be from him

Re: Return of the Gibbons shocker thread!

You never hear anybody complaining about Rickenbacker. Still one of the few manufacturers that brand new, you need to do a refret. There's plenty of bad juju re Ricky's on the web. High prices, average quality, poor back-up if there's an issue. Their arrogance is well documented. They really don't ...

Re: Taking a guitar to and from Australia: Any CITES issues ?

Between nz and Aus I don’t think there’s anything to worry about. It was/is a euro thing and they’ve wound it right back on instruments. At least, that’s what the northern hemisphere forums are saying.

Re: Show us your pedalboard

Boss buffers do have a certain sound about them. I find them a little aggressive on the attack (which I know shouldn't be a thing), which might be what you're hearing Conway, per "tone suck"?

Re: Return of the Gibbons shocker thread!

Inside word…99 thru 03…is where it’s at for modern bargains. The big G hit some sweet spots that they then went on to screw up, as usual. by bargain, I mean vs say a vintage equivalent. Doesn’t mean there aren’t equal/better guitars from other brands too from then, just keeping in the G Shocker theme.

Re: Return of the Gibbons shocker thread!

Well a straight USD to NZD puts it about $5400 which I think is very reasonable, it looks great and that model should hold it's value well and be an easy onsell if need be. You'd assume that the 'Greeny' runs should all have decent tops on them. For context the RRP on my 2020 Standard (AAA top) was...
