Re: Tonerite

It's the thought that counts.

Re: PRS 22 vs 24 - body/neck/pickup position punch-up

I don't really care about any of this, but felt I should post in the thread anyway. On all PRS CE Bolt-On, Standard, and Custom models, there is a 5-way rotary hybrid pickup switching system. This system is not offered on the company’s Singlecut or McCarty models. Here is the breakout: (Note: The s...

You’re using the wrong sized screen. Look at it on your phone. You’ll see they’re the same size.

Re: PRS 22 vs 24 - body/neck/pickup position punch-up

I think part of the explanation comes from the 24 fret coming first. Business decision might have gone like this: Option 1 - Different bridge locations: - 24 - tooling stays the same - 22 - new tooling Option 2 - Same bridge position: - 24 - completely redo tooling - 22 - new tooling. I.e. differen...

Re: PRS 22 vs 24 - body/neck/pickup position punch-up

i edited my FS thread with the difference between the two models. the fact that the pick ups are closer together on a 24 fret prs means you get more of a strat like quack with a 5 way rotary. this means almost nothing these days as prs have branched out somewhat from the original design. on some of...

Re: PRS 22 vs 24 - body/neck/pickup position punch-up

Nice! This tallies with my experience of both 22 and 24 feet models. The pickups are closer together on the 24 fret models I’ve seen, and the bridge/trem sits closer to the neck. Your other logic makes sense too. I thought that on some early models the 24 fret neck was a tad shorter, but I may be w...

PRS 22 vs 24 - body/neck/pickup position punch-up

As some of you know, I am now intimately familiar with the black hole that is scale length and body join position! If not, read my LP Jr thread. Also, you may have seen a thread derailment on BC's for sale, where the same concept around neck/body positions was discussed. So, I was naturally interest...

Please create a different thread to discuss this, calmly and respectfully, rather than mess with this for sale. I’ll restore this thread back to FS!

Re: Sideways refret

I’ve removed many frets from the side...from old Fenders of course. No mess. Do it with anything where the frets have come in from the top and it’s going to deliver tragic results

Re: Sideways refret

Removing frets sideways? Absolutely.

Installing them sideways? No thanks, and really, not required.
