Living room jamming - Wanganui?

Im looking to start having (neighbour friendly) jams in my living room. Got a lectronic kit set up, like playing dadrock ( 12 bar, classic covers, reggae, jamming ) but happy to play any kind of stuff. Here is a vid i made recently of my singing and playing ( my first vid, not very posh :) ) https:/...

This 4.5" driver actually works for guitar!

In my endless quest for TV volume tonez i put this driver ... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32941823446.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.41134c4d5sr5Bm in a small combo shell, and its bloomin awesome. 10db less output than my 1x10 - much better for TV volume playing. Using a modded Bugera T5 to drive it...

Re: It Never Ends

Now i have G&L gas. Awesome, seems more realistic than Suhr ownership. (unless someone wants to swap a well dinged MVP-5 bass for one... :) )

Looks like a cool and non generic sounding guitar. Can you get upgrades for that pickup shape from Tonerider? :lolno:

York Audio ir's = good.

Im sure that most already know about the York Audio i.r's but just in case - You know how you endlessly roll ir's hoping to find one thats a magical "better" button? The York ir's are as close to that as i have seen. And you only get around 50 files per samplerate (including all the combin...

Marcus King

Marcus King. Funny looking effer. Springsteen reportedly relieved at no longer being the future of RnR  IMO the best "reaction videos" on FB are people first seeing Mr King, and then hearing him sing... The last time a i heard a new voice this good was Terence Trent Darby in the 80's...

Stripboard FX building is awesome. Great way to learn heaps about electronics, pedal modding, and inexpensive home built boutique FX :)

Re: NAAD

I had no idea you were a fellow mandolin player! - i got obsessed by learning mando (and banjo) around a 2010. Put in about 2 years then burned out. Love the logic of 4 strings tuned in 5ths. Here is a recording i did during my "acoustic" phase.. 10 marylou.mp3 Cool, is that a tuba in the...

Thanks rickenbackerkid, those are pretty much the settings i found by ear. A different vibe than the Cornford model i normally use for everything. Will try swapping to a Twin model to see how that changes things...

Re: There's booteeek, then there's this...

The thing that I noticed in a couple of minutes of that, is that it sounds like a good fender amp with a parametric boost to give the mid range some honk. Nice, but not thousands and thousands of dollars worth If i was to try and approximate this tone with say a Deluxe model, would i put the parame...

Re: The nightmare is over!! CITES to exempt musical instruments from rosewood ban

I read that the underlying reason for the over regulation of rosewood was increased demand from Chinese furniture manufacturers. Apparently in China rosewood furniture is a traditional status symbol, and with tens of millions of Chinese moving from poverty to the middle class there has been an immen...
