Re: Does Stratosphere charge GST for items under $1k?
I think I will likely get some of the San Dimas pickups first and put them in an existing axe, they seem to be a cheap way to get quality electronics. Im looking into cheaper bodies that will fit a Charvel neck which are awesome, something like https://stratosphereparts.com/charvel-pro-mod-so-cal-2-...

Re: Does Stratosphere charge GST for items under $1k?
If they do, it should show when you check out. I just visited the site, added a body to my cart, entered my address, and it said $0.00 tax. Nice one, cheers mate. What Im wanting to do is put together this model on the cheap https://charvel.com/gear/shape/san-dimas/style-1/pro-mod-san-dimas-style-1...

Does Stratosphere charge GST for items under $1k?
Thommann does, Im not sure if Stratoshphere is a big enough fish for IRD.
They have a lot of Charvel parts I would like at very affordable prices.

Re: Budget Mahogany small body cutaway acoustic?
I do wonder about a company that has several videos of the instrument being built but none of it being played. Which model? I posted a thread of their grand auditorium cutaway Pro series. But its Cedar top, Im after mahogany. Think ive found something that she will like :-) I wonder if she will let...

Re: Budget Mahogany small body cutaway acoustic?
Before I bought my Taylor I had been very impressed by a Walden at that type of price point (but going back a bit now). They seemed to have the usual variety of body size/shapes Yep, they are goodies. I found a Grand Audo cutaway but is a spruce top. I may look at Cole Clark as I know they make the...

Re: Budget Mahogany small body cutaway acoustic?
How about a 00 size Sigma? Yep they do a Spruce top but yet to find a mahogany cutaway. It might end up resorting to importing the Takamine Im after. Edit: Here is a beautiful example sappele and thick cedar top, mahogany neck https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/P3NC--takamine-p3nc-natural-sati...

Re: Budget Mahogany small body cutaway acoustic?
No Id say Mahogany all round, it has more mid range
Grand Auditorium cutaway is what she is after. The Takamine range has a nice tone. But is hard to find the right size in NZ.
Will catch up on other replies too, thanks mate.

Budget Mahogany small body cutaway acoustic?
For the Mrs, she is a casual player, classically trained but plays contemporary. I thought yamaha at first as they make great budget guitars, but Spruce tops. I like the TAKAMINE GD11MCENS, its all Mahogany. Reminds me of a cole clark with the darker toned woods (is it bunya...) But she would prefer...

Re: Has Aria lifted their game or they better stock now more available?
Ive been looking for Aria Pro II PE (Les Paul style) guitars and cannot find anywhere in NZ, or overseas (outside Ebay etc) that sells them, anybody know of somewhere? In doing so Ive noticed that NZ actually gets better pricing for Aria's than the Aussie shop I looked at, even more so if you take c...

Re: Artist Guitars?
Very happy. I've never played a JB or Jazz . The JB SH-4 is fairly hot at 16.6K Alnico with a focus on the trebs. Jazz on the other hand is a very articulated pickup, and not overly hot at 7.5k, but its a very nice sounding pickup. I see the JB and the 59 SH1 (8.5k) together more often. But I prefe...

Re: Has Aria lifted their game or they better stock now more available?
Are the Aria Pro basses a good alternative to Squier? Don't play bass in bands anymore but looking for a cheapo one to record at home. First up, Im not a bass player. But im looking at a the 30" Jet Baritone and Im wondering why all these guitars are so cheap, people mention no fret sprout etc...

Re: Has Aria lifted their game or they better stock now more available?
Just noticed this review, the Red strat he uses has a MUCH deep baked maple. Also keep in mind it is not a single piece, as in the Fretboard and the Neck are seperate, both baked maple, but unlike most baked maple necks not a single piece, but I dont see any issue with that. https://www.youtube.com/...
