Re: Looper…is it worth spending up ?

Pigtronix is analog dry through and 24 bit / 48 kHz HD.

Boss is 32 bit ad/da conversion.

The sample quality will largely be imperceptible between the two,.. however analogue dry through always wins out over ad/da conversion for me.

Re: Effect of changing room temperature on guitars - at home?

 free relicing service? 😀 Its incredible how much wood 'breathes' from day to day or year to year. When you bring into account wood under tension via wire, it seems the best way to store is in a place with as little fluctuation as possible. I keep my best instruments in their case with a gel pa...

Re: NPD : Boss SD1 Timecapsule

Played at home only. Sounds incredible! Has that sharp asymmetrical bite, but smooth touch response as well. Completely different to the modern SMD units or Waza.

Re: NAD: Orange Crush 35RT

What a great story and writeup on the 35rt! Its the best Solid state all analogue amp I've tried and fools so many people into thinking its all tube. The touch response is incredible and takes pedals so well. I picked one up to get back into playing again after a long hiatus and was just running an ...

Re: Gibson Mahogany

And, while every one goes on about weight, light doesn't necessarily translate to mind blowing tone. Nor does heavy. Nor does old if you listen to those with the experience. I see dudes with light basswood bodies and bolt on necks built yesterday create incredible sound and it makes me think.. it's...

In contrast, the Gibson mahogany question has been gone over many times. It always lands with true generalisations countered by someone saying every guitar is different.
Cheers. Just wanted a local perspective on it really out of interest.

Re: Gibson Mahogany

Cheers for your help.
It's a sobering read and a shame to see its classified as vulnerable conservation status.
With the way the world is, don't think I'll ever buy a new guitar again.

Gibson Mahogany

Can anyone enlighten me at all regarding Gibsons mahogany.. What species? Where is it sourced? Do they truly use different grades for different series of product lines or is it all marketing blah? Apparently a lot of young growth mahogany and wood is being used in the industry. Keen on a new Les Pau...
