Another option is to integrate the app with services compatible with a well defined APi, like Subsonic. And then one could search through is catalog, listen "on the go" and process the songs. But no major service provider AFAIK implement such APi as they all want to keep control of the son...

Others will build an app to convert YouTube to MP3, fill it with spyware and ads, publish the app and then wait for a "take down" notice while making money. They do so using false identity or strawman companies to avoid any real legal risk. And then some other guy comes next.

Well, that's a good occasion to get back to the "good ol' MP3" with your own perfectly crafted and original collection of music

I could probably integrate the app with open-source solutions (self hosted with a Raspberry pie or something like that) but that's pretty niche too!

That would be technically quite doable, even pretty easy in the case of YouTube (harder for Spotify and such music services) but legally not authorized by any of these services.

Only New Zealand and France. I really need to check how the system "hold the load" without pushing things too much or users would have to wait for a long time before getting their song.
