Re: Amp switching box

Oh, it may also be of interest: I needed shit loads of cables as you may imagine (about 20) which was looking pretty expensive. Upon looking for some suitable cable to make my own I found these: https://www.jaycar.co.nz/high-quality-s-vhs-video-audio-cable-sold-per-metre/p/WB1552 https://www.jaycar....

Re: Amp switching box

Yeah I did notice the same thing but I figured that for proof of concept (wasn’t sure if it would actually work or just descend into a mess of interference noise) I would just take the risk on low current switches. Didn’t have enough poles to parallel them, these ones are 4 pole 3 way to switch both...

Amp switching box

Not an amp build but “amp adjacent”, I have put together a box to switch between my amps. I’ve got a silver jubilee, and ac30 and a wee orange terror stamp lined up in my garage. It struck me as a hassle to switch between them casually, particularly as I’m generally running effects in front of the a...

Re: The One Thing Every Influential Guitar Tone Has In Common

The more recording I do, the more I realise that sound engineers are the real geniuses of Good Tone The few times I've recorded with a decent sound engineer, they have gone to my amp, looked at how I've set up the tone and gain controls and gone "No", then set it up to sound good recorded...

Yeah I wondered if that might be the case. I’ll have to remove the nut and measure the depth to the rod and see if it’s changing

Re: Truss rod nut slipping?

Dunno, man but could the truss rod be broken somewhere along it's length through the neck? Good luck. The truss rod still works, it just won’t stay. I’d imagine if it was broken I wouldn’t be able to straighten the neck at all 🤷‍♂️ You're probably right but it may depend on the type of rod involved...

Re: Truss rod nut slipping?

It may be one of those cases where you have to let the neck settle, clamp it to a straight piece of wood or similar and then adjust the nut, leaving it for a day or so... check out Dan Erlewine's videos on youtube as he has a ton of advice for situations like this :-) Thank you sir, I’ll have a loo...

Truss rod nut slipping?

Picked up a used squier jaguar last week and when I ran through a quick set up I noticed that the truss rod nut was super loose and the neck had a decent forward bow. Tightened it up and set the neck nice and straight but found the next day that the action was quite high again. Checked and found nec...

Score! Just the mics alone :) That’s what I keep telling my wife! She just gives me that funny look   Lol, I think we all know 'that funny look'. Yep, and don’t they just say everything? This particular look says something like “so you just bought a PA system that you don’t need and someh...

Absolutely, scored an ac30 from a bloke down in Hamilton a couple of years ago off Facebook. Wasn’t that you?

I can scarcely believe what just happened

Saw a listing on Facebook that looked interesting. Price was all wrong. Thought maybe he missed a zero off the end? Sent a message, yep that’s the price. Jumped on it straight away. https://i.postimg.cc/xdqtKNRj/00-BE321-D-36-B3-417-A-9325-32-F6-D51-D90-DB.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/bwmmD91F/2005-C701...

Re: Pedalboards: your way

Pedalboard looks great... bonus points for AC free operation! Is that Orange pedal an amplifier? Yep - orange terror stamp, loud as hell for 20w, even has an actual tube in it. Got it plugged into 2 greenbacks. Can it do loud & clean? Ahhhhhh not really. Louder than you would expect for the siz...
