Thanks for your replies.
It’s the bigger original one.
I’ve tried different voltages from a multi power supply including the 18v.
I’ll see if i can get a dedicated 18V plug to try.

Damaged Philosophers Tone
I just picked up a Philosophers Tone compressor that seems broken.
It has constant fuzz noise even with the grit turned right down and a huge drop in volume.
I was wondering if it's possible to bypass the grit section

Re: Mr Glynns Pickups
Well it is a great time to support local so I have a set of these on the way. Couple of Tui singles with a Blue sky bridge.
As you said Glynn was incredible to deal with.

Re: Mr Glynns Pickups
Has anyone tried these yet?
I’m thinking about grabbing the Tui’s with a Blue Sky humbucker.

Obsidian wiring harness arrived. Looks amazing! Now I'm on the prowl for pickups. Anyone got anything they want to move?

Re: Fender strat lockdown project
Take a look at some Custom Shop relics. I've no idea how much like an actual old and worn guitar they are (I think there are no so many relics about we'd likely look at a genuine pre-CBS and think it was a fake...) but they do look and feel good. Maybe don't even worry about the relic thing. Maybe ...

Re: Fender strat lockdown project
I've tried tidying up and linking the actual damage on the guitar, and took the neck back to a few bare spots. It's hard to know when to stop.
First time having a go at this so any feedback? How's it look?
More or less to go any where?

Re: Fender strat lockdown project
I’ve had a bit of a scratch at the dings in the paint. Definitely poly and kinda wish I hadn’t bothered but I’m getting the hang of working with it Have exposed wood in a few places, do you put a light sealant over it or leave it bare? I was going to try to tidy up the cracked headstock but I kinda ...

Re: Fender strat lockdown project
Looks like I'll get one of those Obsidian wire setups then! Although the changes to shipping today may mean I have to wait 4 weeks to receive it. That's really going to put a downer on projects at home eh? Oh well I put my last set of strings on to see how it plays and pretty happy with the feel of ...

Re: Fender strat lockdown project
Thanks. The low resolution photo hides all the dings!
I'd be keen to try and stretch from heavier blues through to classic rock tones.
Found Obsidian Wire on the net and really like the look of one of theirs that means I could blend in the neck pickup.

I don't have anything to go in it yet. Not sure what sort of buying ability we'll have for the next month.Molly wrote:What hardware are you putting in?
I'll probably try to keep an eye for some cheap stuff online to get started and go from there.
Suggestions?

Hopefully this shows up although at pretty low resolution. The editor I was using to drop the file size didn't seem to be compatible
