Re: Let's talk about tele bridge rail pickups

I had a DiMarzio Tone Zone rail in my Tele didn't like it at all. Too compressed and fizzy. Switched to a little 59. Glad I did, it's an overwound PAF basically. Sounds awesome. PAFs or P90s for rock, rails for metal imo. Ymmv I have that Tone Zone T (cheers again griff!) and I bloody love it - gra...

Re: Alternate tunings

Tuned my Acoustic to dadgad, kinda cool how tolerant of changing tunings they are... I'm well into DADGAD at the moment, albeit down half a step (C#G#C#F#G#C# doesn't roll off the tongue quite so easily though :problem: ) Interesting! What are you playing in that tuning? Nothing in particular, just...

Re: The Ocean Collective @ Club Tavern, CHCH

Fourth time seeing them (first 2 times were back in 2011). They are using powered KPA's into cabs now but I think it sounded a bit gutless compared to when they were using Triaxis +2:90... Interesting... I thought it sounded awesome, but then again I wear earplugs so that takes some of the oomph of...

The Ocean Collective @ Club Tavern, CHCH

I only found out about this gig at the last minute, but I’m bloody glad I did! Any of you on here go to the gig, or the Welly/Auckland ones? I had seen The Ocean years ago, and have a couple of their records which are great. But I must admit, I hadn’t really listened to them for a while; I certainly...

Ah yes, I've had the Wampler one before. Was very good.
I agree, I'm really happy with the Ego, sounds great. I find having a mix or blend control is very useful too.
