Re: Hunting down Jack Butler's Jackson from Crossroads
Good story. Probably didn’t occur to many (eg. me) that the guitar in the movie was a prop and not the one used for recording.

Re: Art on a guitar?
I have one of these tasteful guitars made for the discerning player. When researching whether to get it, I recall standout comments such as: Is the neck DD profile? Does the guitar come with hepatitis-C? and... What kind of douche bag would play a guitar like that? DID NOT PUT ME OFF. ilyjplba18atob...

Re: Best Auckland set up?
Anyone had any work done by Trevor Binford? Seems legit. http://www.binfordluthiery.com Bumping this 4-year-old post. Any answers? I remember reading this post at the time and sending a message to Mr. Binford but not getting a reply. (Onehunga being an easy location for me.) My question would have ...

Re: I 3D printed a guitar that also lights up when played
That's very impressive.
There are new technologies I haven't got my head around at all and 3D printing is one of them.
I made toast this morning. A bit burnt.

Nice. I was following that on TM but it was more wishful thinking as I'm currently banned (self-imposed) from new guitars. Garish is my favourite colour.

Re: Show us your whole setup....
We've written off an entire room of the house because the kids have strewn their toys everywhere. It's past the point where they could even realistically tidy it up, they just don't know where to start. I do though - going to go in there with a rubbish bag and start scooping... mate just wait until...

Re: STUPID IS WHAT STUPID DOES… Intervention needed!!!!
If you gave me a choice between playing a guitar and working on one for the afternoon, I'd choose working on one. It's totally out of hand eh! What's worse is I'm hardly getting a chance to play one. I work 60-ish hours a week, do my sport 3/4 times a week, walk the dog every day, coach all my daug...

Re: If you were just starting what sub $1,000 guitar?
There's an interview recently with the Fender CEO who says something like 90% of first time guitarists are done within the first year. So a used Squier starter pack for about $220-$250 on TM is the right choice 90% of the time. But if you can predict the future and know you're in the 10%, as others ...

Went to it. $59 on GrabOne. Bargain mate. Fantastic show. First impression for a "better than expected" night was Myles Kennedy. I’m neutral to him on record (eg. he ain't Axl). His first note was right on pitch and he enunciates clearly (eg. he ain't Vince Neil). Good frontman. Bass playe...

GAS somewhat under control at the moment. So John Holmes’s cock seems a good starting point. Though I’m worried I’ll be issued with the floppy post-HIV version. Which wouldn’t any fun at all. So Jimi Hendrix’s knob for mojo. Right hand from EVH. Left hand more complex. Pinky finger from Steve Vai. I...
