Re: HD500X

Yeah that's odd, I still use a M13 which is the same era of hardware and there's no tone suck. I still rate that thing too, I dont know of any other pedal that can swap a variety of fx order around on the fly in the same way it can.
I have no idea if it has midi out/control functions though

I believe it is just that
30W power amp is class d. The beod is great for a pedal but this thing just seems like a cash grab for someone who wants something with Friedman on it

Re: Pedal building help needed

Part of the essential operation and mojo of this circuit is it interacts with the guitar pickup directly. Any buffer prevents that.

Re: Mr Glyns Pickups

Way back at the last Auckland gear festy, I played a guitar with a Cloud 9 in it and really liked it. Nicely focused mids and lots of harmonics. For some strange reason Glyn asked me to record a demo of it on some of my amps. This was strange as most people hear my playing and tell me to shutup, but...

Re: WTB-attenuator 100w

Laney used a strange taper on that volume pot, if it's just better volume control you're after you could look at swapping it out for something more mild in taper, or putting a 220k in series with the master volume control. After about 2.5 on the MV the power tubes are way into overdrive.

I have the same amp but has been converted into a head. What were the circuit revisions? I hadn't noticed that

Re: Building a Jansen 4/TWELVE SPECIAL copy (COMPLETE)

There are two parts to any tremelo - the control voltage generator and a muting device. Easiest way to implement a muting device is an LDR with a low on-resistance - put that across a signal path somewhere in the signal chain and send a varying control voltage to it to vary the muting effect it has....

Re: Building a Jansen 4/TWELVE SPECIAL copy (COMPLETE)

How did you end up configuring that extra gain stage? I recall you had a few options on where to insert it.
Easy to add a solid state trem in there if you really wanted one..

There's much better ways to change the bias which is something I have planned.
That sounds interesting, what do you have in mind?
