Re: NGD: MIJ Jazzmaster

With some tweaking the original saddles can work fine. In some ways, I prefer the tone of the original saddles on mine, vs the Mastery. The mastery has it in other areas though. I've tried all the fancy boutique bridges and I always come back to the stock AVRI bridge on my Jag and Jazzmaster due to...

StratMatt wrote: Sun Oct 31, 2021 4:53 pm Are you suggesting the possibility there's a better stack than a TS into a RAT?
I did that for awhile. Then I tried a Boss OD-2R into a RAT and sold the TS.

Re: What are you gassing for?

I'm thinking very hard about (read "want") a Fender American Professional Strat. There are some very good deals on them on Music Machine. They're about the level of expensive that I could justify buying it and playing it, instead of putting it in an altar and worshipping it. Case in point...

Re: NGD: Bittersweet reunion

Sounds like the buyer can either ship it back for a refund or keep it for the price paid. Sounds fair to me. If I were the buyer I'd ship it back and pocket the refund. Though if I were the seller I'd just offer a partial refund so the price paid was near the original $750. That way the buyer would ...

Re: I think I want a Flint

I like the Flint tremolos a lot -- they're the best I've heard in a pedal. I don't use the reverbs much. Big Sky/Neunaber can do all that and more (and they sound better). Flint's reverbs are also a bit boomy when you turn them up a bit in the mix and I find it hard to find a sweet spot.

Re: What are you gassing for?

That will probably be among the features they add in the "version 2" release in a year or two to get people to buy again.

Re: What are you gassing for?

How is going with the tonemaster - still happy with it? Yep, still quite enjoying the Twin Reverb TM! It gives me that Fender sound. I run it with a JC-40 in a stereo setup. I don't get many opportunities to play it, though, so I usually have to just play the JC-40 in headphones (for reasons you ca...

Re: Show us your pedalboard

This is everything I need, so I'm hopefully done now. I used to laugh when people said this regarding pedalboards, but I've had the same pedalboard for 10 years now so I can testify it is actually possible to find an end to the pedal madness. Two and a half months later and I'm still rocking the sa...

Re: BOSS has joined the game (GT-1000CORE)

Beware that the really nice and interesting sounds on the 500 series boxes are not in the GT-1000. No Vintage Digital delay or SRV reverb, for example. The reverbs are incredibly bland and were basically unusable for me, and the delays are no better than a simple DD-8. All the modulation sounds were...

Re: Show us your pedalboard

Yes I have a Wrath too. I use the switch in the left position, whatever setting that is (do you know?). I find the switch in the right position, although giving you tonnes more volume it actually clips and caves-in on hard hitting chords, especially with humbuckers. You could describe it as "s...

Re: Show us your pedalboard

I go back and forth with the buffer on the Polytune 3 Mini. Recently I've been keeping it off, but I often think it sounds a bit better with the TS mini and Wrath (but not the Loomer's Fuzz). Nice to be able to switch it on and off easily. The Boss PS-2 has a great buffer so I'm OK with having that ...

Re: Show us your pedalboard

I use the Flint mainly for the Tremolo, which I prefer BEFORE delay. I will occasionally use its Reverb, but not much because it's in the middle of the chain. I do stack the Big Sky and Immerse MKII reverbs at times (usually a Cloud sound on the Big Sky into a Hall sound on the Immerse), they sound ...

Re: Show us your pedalboard

I use both together to stack delays, but I will also use one at a time because I like the different delay sounds in each for different songs. You can't get anything in the Timeline to sound quite like the Vintage Digital (or Tera Echo) setting in the DD-500, for example, but the Timeline has Ice mod...

Re: Show us your pedalboard

I moved up to a Pedaltrain Classic 2 (from a Classic 1), got rid of some pedals and added some new ones, such as the Gilamondo phaser and Polytune 3 mini. https://i.imgur.com/QkHpUWB.jpg This is everything I need, so I'm hopefully done now. Really enjoying all of these pedals. Also the predominantly...

Re: What are you gassing for?

Tonemaster Deluxe Reverb - the best sounding non-tube amp I've ever heard. Good choice! I've had the Tonemaster Twin Reverb for a few months. Sounds and reacts just like the tube version (really), but half the weight, with a very useful built-in attenuator and no maintenance to worry about. A lot c...
