Re: Gear Quests!

I'm sorry for your loss. I've been pretty philosophical about it. No point getting too down about it. Already eyeing up adding 3 guitars to fill the void. Small world. I used to live in Billings, MT. Didn’t make it past the very western coast myself. My client lives in a tiny place ca...

Re: Gear Quests!

I've just had one fall over. Jan '65 Jazzmaster. and for a great price. Had the seller in Utah convinced to ship to Montana, to a client of mine who lives 2 months of the year in lower SI NZ. He's a guitar guy and has worked in timber CNC's supplying gear and setting up factories for Taylor and Gibs...

I dislike large headstocks, modern bridges and modern tuners on strats.

I think they look better on a jazzmaster or something with a bigger body, definitely out of proportion on a Strat IMO.
Definitely not a fan on Jazzy’s either. They’re simply out of proportion full stop.

Re: Anyone Rocking Vintage Blackface?

I got a 1966 PR out of North Carolina around 10 years ago. In mint condition with a Weber 10F150T which sounds amazing.

1970 Princeton sits below.

A few who can’t pin anyone for a Jazzmaster. Personally Adam Franklin is my Jazzmaster messiah (from Rick Beato’s favourite band), but some of the more famous users would be Sonic Youth, Elvis Costello, Tom Verlaine, Nels Cline, Ric Ocasek, Jim Root, J Mascis, Troy van Leeuwen, Robert Smith, Kevin S...

Re: The Chris Buck Appreciation Society

Getting bored of YT is our own fault for watching too much of it. Suppose it'll be porn next... ;-) Porn is harder to get tired of, until you're down the rabbit hole of a dude in a gimp suit on a swing getting pegged by a trans chick while her cuckold husband in the chastity cage waits to drink the...

Re: Taking a guitar to and from Australia: Any CITES issues ?

That Reverb excerpt says it all. The need to get documentation for finished instruments has ceased. It says the Brazilian Rosewood restrictions remain in place. Aug 28 was the CITES conference. Nov 26 it was implemented. From Studio 1 Vintage guitars who I emailed recently: We need to get them sigh...

Re: Taking a guitar to and from Australia: Any CITES issues ?

I don’t think this is a thing anymore for instruments made pre initial law changes. I’ve never really thought about it - just ordered, and it’s been delivered. Someone else might have a more carefully thought through response, but I’d be just buying and making sure it was with PayPal so you have a ...

Re: Taking a guitar to and from Australia: Any CITES issues ?

Can you take it on as hand luggage? That’s what I have done with higher end guitars, incl Braz board. Hi Grant. Hoping you or any other experienced NZG chaps could help with advice on importing vintage from USA to NZ. I’ve wanted a vintage Jazzmaster since I was 15. Now I’m in the position to get a...

Re: NAD: Princeton Reverb

My ‘66 Princeton Reverb and ‘70 Princeton. The 66 came from North Carolina around 10 years ago. A lady’s estate. Apparently she had a ‘57 Strat as well

Silverface from Iowa maybe 15 years ago. Just love these amps.
