Re: 50's or modern wiring?

The best and easiest thing that works for me is just a treble bleed made from a 120k/1nf parallel RC network on the volume pot lugs. It keeps the treble all the way down. I like it so much I removed the coil taps I used to have as winding down the volume does similar.

Re: Is NZ producing any blanks?

I'm suggesting you might have a difficult time finding the exact width and length as it's not a common shape for timber dealers to sell, so you might have to buy a bigger wider plank and rip it down.

Our pine is not the same as USA or European pine where the growth rings are closer together and the wood is stronger. You can get poplar from a bunch of places domestically as it grows here, it just might be called something else like tulipwood. Give TimSpec a call if you need something specific. T...

A 1997 KV97 Squier Strat is on its way up here from Taupo. $200 shipped. Awesome. These ones had bodies that were made of real wood. Imagine that.

Oooh! Whatya building? "Got a Hammond 1760H and 194F choke coming from Mouser for a 20w quasi-JCM800 build I've been working on for a while with a mate of mine. It's designed to fit in a 10x6" chassis and might be able to run 6L6 tubes for added fatness but we'll see how we go... I've a p...

OBG Les Paul Custom into a Mesa Tremoverb through a Marshall 412, loud and obnoxious in a dark sweaty den with 3 other guys totally in the moment. That's what it's all about.

Love it! But I might observe that Americans won't be able to pronounce Aotearoa much less comprehend what it means. "Noo Zeelund? What's that and what happened to the old one?" Or my experience of travelling in the US. "Noo Zeelund? What state is that in?" Back on topic, ...
