Re: New Quilter Day

Re: New Quilter Day

Awesome amp....congrats, mate. How are you finding the EQ? I had the 101 and it took me a while to figure out the EQ on the amp (it's like a reverse pot). I highly recommend the BlockDock (I have the 10" for the 101 Reverb and it's awesome.). There were a few in the country when Haywire was the...

Re: The Cheap Guitars Thread

My pick would be instruments made by FujiGen for department stores and big brands in Japan (History guitars for Shimamura etc.). Beautifully made MIJ instruments that you can typically find for $500 - $1000. I bought this History ZMS from Oleg (who bought it off TM for the same money) - $750-800 if ...

Re: Marshall Amplification - their greatest year

I noticed after having a couple of 800s and a late jmp ( 87 I think which was an early 800) they all sounded a little different to each other but all hard to get over 1 in volume. err yes... my JMP is non MV, so got a PPIMV installed as it was insane otherwise and only really useful as a clean plat...

Re: Marshall SV20

Waiting for BigDaddy to pipe up with his 1watt Marshall views... OK. I collect the 1 watt Marshalls from the 50th Anniversary series and now have the JTM1 Offset; JCM1; DSL1 and the Andertons JTM145. All are heads. For me, they are the perfect Marshalls for home use especially at the 0.1W set...

Re: Musty old solid state jazz amps

I've owned a Henriksen Jazz Amp 112ER purchased off Trade Me. Not sure if the original owner purchased it locally. Great amp, especially for archtops.

Re: Pyramid strings

I've never tried the Pyramid guitar strings, but I stock Pyramid Violin strings as a much cheaper alternative to the more expensive Thomastik strings which are the industry standard The Violin teachers hate the pyramids and ask their students not to get them. Perhaps we guitarists are less fussy th...

Re: Forums have been slow, how about a 'In the mail' thread?

Ibanez LR-10 ex-Voxshall. I loved this guitar when I visited his home last year. Told him that if he ever was silly enough to sell it, I'd buy it. He agreed and kept his word! Hopefully picking it up on the 30th, unless anyone is driving Auckland-Whangarei sooner? Congrats! Regretted selling mine b...
