Re: Best DAW for beginner
This cannot be overstated. There is a huge amount of community support for Reaper, so it's a great one for a noobie. That being said, Reaper users seem to be like Vegans or Cross-Fit trainers. Hard to get them to shut up about it.* *(Tongue planted firmly in cheek here) Bendy, is Reaper the DAW tha...

reaper, hands down Reaper is cool if you want a free (or cheap) DAW that has plenty of tutorials out there and supports everything and anything... This cannot be overstated. Re: The Velcro that’s not Velcro…?
Just be careful of the black dual lock with the white foam backing, that residue is hard to remove! The translucent SJ3560 works best from experience. The stuff I got has a translucent base. But there’s a stuff called Shellite you can get from Bunnings. Moves any kind of dirt and residue without st...

Re: The Velcro that’s not Velcro…?
Reposting lost comment from yesterday. Thanks you guys who chipped in with this thread. I finally got my head around the 3M Dual Lock stuff and the differences. Thanks JB for th Photogear link! Dropped by there and picked up 3 half meter strips. NB, the link pic shows two halves but it's actually ju...

Re: The Velcro that’s not Velcro…?
Dual Lock seems expensive. But then you see how strong a 10mm x 10mm square is. Absolutely! It's not actually that expensive considering how much you need. The first time I used it I put 5cm strips along two sides of my power supply. The outer layers of the plywood separated before the Dual Lock di...

Re: The Velcro that’s not Velcro…?
Thanks Starry. Did you try it on normal Velcro? In the video I mentioned, they were quite specific it did hold. Wonder if it was a slightly different stuff? My pedal board is the carpeted with loop type. So not practical to change it out. Codedog, yeah. Warning: do not cover the whole base of the p...

The Velcro that’s not Velcro…?
Hey team, a while ago I was idly watching a pedal board build video by the Gigrig guys and the beardy Aussie guy was showing stuff he uses to attach pedals. It’s like big velcro hook tape that still attaches to standard Velcro loop. Only needed a small patch to hold really tight. 3M product? It’s on...

Re: Show us your pedalboard
Ok, hopefully it will stay static now for more than a few days... Off the board are Vox Wah (Guitar input), Volume Pedal (In loop after drives and compressor), and Expression pedal (Keeley Synth-1) Signal chain: Guitar -> Wah -> Voodoo Vibe -> Synth-1 -> Fuzzboy -> Lizard Queen -> '73 Rams Head Muf...

Re: Survey: How many effects pedals do you own?
Reg18’s collection looks amazing!
Would love to try some of those.
Funny how there’s just about every classic you could wish but the pedal board is all modern.

Re: Hi! Happy New Year, First Post and LPC question
Yeah, I saw that one, but I'm not sure about the Richlite and that year of LPC. any experience or advise with it? No direct experience. The best advice I have is that it is being sold on behalf of a forum member by a forum member who has knowledge, experience and taste you'd struggle to find elsewh...

Re: Hi! Happy New Year, First Post and LPC question
Welcome, no idea on how to find a good LPC here in NZ though. but I’m sure there will be some around. 90s is a good place to start with quality of woods and general build but I wouldn’t narrow my search to just that, plenty of good ones from different eras. Isnt Dhamajester selling an LPC currently...
