Re: That BF Super Reverb at Cadenza…..?
Excuse my ignorance, but what’s Cadenza? Is this an Auckland guitar store?

Re: Compressor and Overdrive in one box?
Don’t have any experience with how they sound but I’d imagine lots of the cheap brands will have something, like this Nux one here with a boost but still in the ball park. https://www.musicplanet.co.nz/nux-nbk-5-masamume-booster-compressor-nux-nbk-5?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjJvAy8qLhQMV2sg...

Re: Gretsch content
I'd be inclined to ignore the name on the headstock and just look at it as a generic guitar. Because given its origins, it might appear under several brands. Now this isn't a bad thing; the Koreans and Taiwanese can make some fine instruments and it should be judged on its merits. Just don't go thi...

Gretsch content
Borrowing this guitar off my brother in law, I didn’t know much about this series. Seems as though it was made in the Peerless Korean factory prior to electronatic series being around. Seems very well built to me, nice guitar with Dearmond pickups. Anyone know much about these? It wasn’t a known mod...

Re: IK Multimedia ToneX
Anyone got tips on creating headroom on captures? I have noticed some captures have more headroom built in and my drives breathe a bit better. One I was using this morning Tone Junkie Sampson era Badcat wasn’t the case, I lowered the input trim to 5, (from 8.5) and lowered the gain to 3 ish but was ...

Re: IK Multimedia ToneX
Once I got over the interface learning curve and software quirks I’m really liking the Tone X. No experience with a Kemper but it certainly has some noticeable improvements over my HX Stomp amps.

Re: Late 70s Strats - thoughs?
I don’t have experience with 70s Strats but I do own a 72 Tele. Having owned a number of Teles from USA modern down the line it’s an excellent guitar. It’s very heavy as is often attributed to 70s guitars, but the neck feels very nice and the playability is as good as any other I’ve tried. It’s a ke...

Re: Is there a power supply with 16v AC outputs?
Not sure, would be interesting to find out though. 240-volts according to this schematic: https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?t=19980 That’s a good thing right? As apposed to some other tube overdrives that run at 9v DC and aren’t really doing much? After playing it this morning live I’m p...

Re: Is there a power supply with 16v AC outputs?
Yeah I watched a video on how to replace the tubes, each wire needs to be desoldered off the board carefully. Not impossible but not a quick job. Hopefully mine isn’t near replacement but time will tell. Do you know what voltage the tubes are running at Reg? Not sure, would be interesting to find o...

Re: Is there a power supply with 16v AC outputs?
Sounds pretty good on youtube, and has some interesting tubes in it! I believe that the tube are soldering directly to the PCB which makes them more troublesome to replace if need be. Yeah I watched a video on how to replace the tubes, each wire needs to be desoldered off the board carefully. Not i...

Re: Is there a power supply with 16v AC outputs?
Ooooh, another tube pedal I nee to check out! Didn’t know they made one! Think it was a 90s/2000s model, haven’t seen one in a while but this came up cheap recently on TM. I remember looking at guitar rig run downs of the band The Living End using one live so always wanted to try one. It sounds pre...

Re: Is there a power supply with 16v AC outputs?
In a recent pedalboard shuffle I’ve ended up with a Seymour Duncan Classic tube pedal on my board, which means I now need a multi box as I have 3 power supply’s to run my pedalboard, a Truetone CS7 for most of the pedals, seperate HX Stomp power supply as it overloads the CS7 without it and now a s...
