Re: FS: Eminence SC GA64

12” Eminence guitar speaker, almost brand new, only used a couple of times. Brought it for my Fender which it suited perfectly but It doesn’t suit my British amps as much. Apparently a popular upgrade for deluxe reverbs! Will trade for a Celestion 12”. Shipping $25 Speaker $180 I've often wondered ...

Re: Christchurch Gearfest - 22nd August 2020

Less than 3 weeks to go! Im trying to build a combo for my new Paul WD amp, I better get on with it! Ooooh what is it???? It’s the 18watt EL84 amp I posted about a couple of weeks ago. It’s somewhere between a Marshall and a Vox with an EF86 preamp https://i.imgur.com/Ey76L6j.jpg Still looks like t...

So soon!? Cool.

Can I try the Iridium through the PA?
Not sure, I don’t actually know how to run the new system.
It’s a digital Behringer X32 if someone knows anything about them?

I've nearly finished my collection.
I'm after a Danelectro Dan-O-Wah if anyone knows of one.

I Have always wanted to do something like this, but with big box EHX pedals.

Cheap as chips. Going to keep it at work.

I was going to bid on that too but decided I didn’t really need it.
How does it play?

Re: Possible new amp options

Hopefully this won't hijack the thread too much but I'm curious about your dislike of single ended amps. May I ask what about them you dislike? Well I’ve read up a bit and they apparently have more harmonics? Which seem to clash for me with complex chords. It’s like when you play with lots of disto...

Re: Possible new amp options

All sound awesome! You should do a voting poll? I’d go 18w DC30 or Dumble 18w. I’ve never liked single ended amps much, just a personal opinion. Re: How many overdrives....

2 and a boost is what I have on my board, most of the time I just use 1 and a boost though. I’ve been really liking the Timmy clone in my HX stomp recently, never really liked a real one but the digital replication I like! I also prefer the slightly dirty amp and either a light OD or boost to push i...

Re: Possible new amp options

I’ve got A clone of one of these which is somewhere between an 18watt Vox and Marshall with an EF86. It sounds great!

Re: Cab micing techniques

second attempt but panned room mic left and close mic right around 75% each think it sounds better.
Trying to get a sound which is full but gives an idea of what the amp sounds like in the room as well.

Re: Cab micing techniques

I think that sounds very nice on the drier sound at the beginning, possibly because the two mics are slightly softening the tone. Once all the echo and stuff is in it sounds a bit messy, and the tow mics being a little out of time and out of phase could be part of that . . . I quite like a single c...
