Re: Setting guitar tone for tracking

And by multitracking I assume you're recording multiple takes of the same thing? just using copy and paste doesn't sound right :) If time and money is tight then artificial double tracking is fine..you just have to get the "nudging" right so it doesn't get into sounding like chorus on eve...

Let me know if you ever do move here. I'm pretty much in central New Plymouth (Vogeltown), and I can pro...

Re: Dumble-shmumble. What's it all about?

What I don't get about the whole Dumble mystique is why someone hasn't just reproduced the amps. Or is that what Two Rock are supposed to be? A poor man's Dumble? There are a few builders who make Dumble-type amps - Fuchs, Welagen, Glaswerks, Two Rock, and Bludotone come to mind off-hand. Larry Car...

Re: How do you use the stand-by switch?

so yesterday I thought I would do it the "right" way and left the amp on all day with volume down. Then turned it off leaving the stand by on and got a loud pop/squeal through the speakers (like when you use to turn the old valve TV's on......amp is fine obviously but not keen on hearing ...

For those who may not know, Louie Shelton was one of the top LA session players in the 60s and 70s, and his discography is a who's who of the music world. He was also Larry Carlton's mentor, helping LC get his foot in the door doing LA session work in the late 60s. Here's Louie playing this fantasti...

Re: Ruby Baby (Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly" Arrangement) - Complete Cover

Wow! Great jobs This is one of my all time favorite albums Getting those vocal harmonies worked out alone is no mean feat Really cool. Now for the rest of the album.... Cheers! Yeah, the vocals were the real challenge on this one, and just production-wise it's so daunting - Donald Fagen, mighty big...
