Re: Guitar Photography
Here's my second guitar.. I used an SLR. The problem with these can be that unless you take a picture of the thing straight on you don't always get everything sharp (without a lens that can alter the plane of focus). The benefit is that you can blur away distracting backgrounds. I used it 'cause it'...

Re: Best glue for ya nuts?
I doubt superglue would hold a nut on permanently as it's quite brittle. You just need a small drop of the stuff anyway.
I used the friction fit method for my tele though.

Re: Any solutions for a twisted neck?
Solutions I've read about include clamping the neck straight and applying heat, or removing the fingerboard and removing wood. I don't think that either solution guarantees that the wood won't just be wood and move again.

Re: Hollowbodies & f-holes
I haven't money and now I'm in the wrong country to experiment, but I think that there's more to semi hollow bodies than having fun with a router and sticking a top on it. A certain tele comes to mind  I've found that necks aren't really all that hard to build. Although I'm still too chicken t...

Re: Feedback question
I think they overrate head units anyway. It's loud enough but it sounds weak as. They're either not supplying the advertised 50W or they're about to start smoking. I don't know how it works but I think amps are designed to push the speaker rather than a head unit, which sounds like the speaker's suc...

Re: Traveling with Guitars
Has anyone tried Frank Ford's guitar packing instructions? The idea sounded plausible to me and gat is still in one piece over here in the northern hemisphere. Probably not as necessary with a tele though.

Re: Rough frets
you could start with 600 followed by 800, 1000, 1200, 1500 and 2000.. then polish them. Otherwise use micromesh up to whatever the highest it comes in.. something micron.

Re: NEw Fret Design
when I dress a fret with my triangle file they look like that
I was too cheap to buy a crowning file and when I finally did I found I was useless with one anyway.. stink.

Re: Fane speakers
Reeves amps hasn't anything to do with Reeves the person. Original Hiwatts were made by Hylight (Dave Reeves) until he died in 81. They were then made by Biacrown (I think a collection of ex Hylight employees) until suppliers stopped supplying them. That's the end of the original Hiwatts. I don't th...

Re: Fane speakers
and I did mean to write cab. Not that a Reeves amp isn't a bad idea anyway Hmmm so are Reeves and Harry Joyce amps just Hiwatts essentially? or did they put their own twist on them? or is it more complicated, like the whole Matamp/Green/Electric amp thing Fiasco? I'm not sure about HJ. I thi...

Re: Fane speakers
Or you could get a Reeves amp with Vintage Purple speakers in it for half that.. http://www.reevesamps.com/index.php?opt ... &Itemid=48
Vintage Purples are apparently very close to a vintage Fane. It's just a pity you can't get the speakers separately..
