As much as Fuzz Faces?
LOL, yup, Blake :) I mainly use fuzz faces as overdrive anyways (volume and fuzz on the pedal maxed; guitar volume low).

Re: Help finding the age of an old TS808?

So many opinions and I can't seem to find one that makes sense! Maybe I just haven't found the right site. I'm trying to find the age of my old TS808 (serial number 0812095) cos I'm thinking of possibly trying to sell it. Maybe the 0 at the beginning is for 80, as in 1980? Anyone know anything abou...

Re: 6G15 Reverb Unit GAS

Surfy bear make an excellent non-valve alternative. They’re really well regarded in the surf guitar nerd scene. I’d definitely check them out! https://tonelounge.co.nz/surfybear-classic-real-spring-reverb-limited-edition-tweed/ I have also been looking into this as an alternative. Surfy bear and th...

Re: 6G15 Reverb Unit GAS

I built a Fender 6G15 clone in 2019 (not a clone but a ground up build with a purchased chassis) and tweed cab by BG. It sounded 'effing awesome I gotta say and now I understand "drip"! That cost $1200.00 to build then, so it would be more expensive now. If you have a kit in mind I'm happ...

6G15 Reverb Unit GAS

Hi Team, Ever since the lockdown, I have been listening to a lot of 60s surf music and this has led me to a serious GAS towards a Fender Reverb unit. I need tubes and springs and drips LOL. I do not have enough cash to buy a vintage unit--what would the surf enthusiast here recommend? Weber kits etc...

Re: DIY guitar stand ideas

I am in a similar situation. We will be moving into an apartment and will thus have very little storage space. I will most likely have to do away with bulky guitar cases and have since been looking at guitar racks as an option. For months this has been my preoccupation. I don't have wood working ski...

Re: Hollow and Semi-Hollow guitars thread

I've only owned a Sheraton II and a 1962 RI Sorrento (both gone) so not much experience re: semis and hollowbodies. The current one in my stash. I bought this on a whim a couple of months back. Great guitar but might not stay long since I feel a great itch to buy another strat LOL. received_12014195...

I liked the tchula boost so much that I bought another one while mucking around on reverb the other day. Oh dear.

Re: Auckland / Northland Gearfest

That's brilliant. I'll sell it as a family activity, then disappear for three hours with a bunch of strange blokes, sinking beers and going deaf. I go there weekly with my son. He loves riding his scooter there. Yeah, sell it at a family activity :) I'm guessing if you're going with your wife and k...

Re: Auckland / Northland Gearfest

Onepoto Domain Community Hall looks like another good option. Central location (a few hundred meters from the Harbour Bridge), heaps of parking, cheap and no immediate neighbours. No separate rooms for acoustic guitars +/- whatever a 'black mamba' is, but oh well. onepoto.png Still looking into the...
