Re: Anyone like bass guitars?

I'm kinda hoping with the bass lessons that it will also improve my guitar playing, any thoughts? the focus on feeling the groove and working on timing will definitely cross over... I find that the notes on the low E & A strings define the chord positions on a guitar when playing mostly barre c...

Re: Show us your whole setup....

I've gone from 5 electrics and 1 acoustic to just one electric. Its through necessity though, because my other hobby, photography, has taken a turn for the expensive. My pedalboard is looking rather forlorn too. I share your pain. Photography is a very expensive hobby indeed! Decent lenses al...

Re: An EL84 amp in a vintage radio cabinet

Hello, I am new to NZguitars and by way of introduction here is a small amp I have built using a 1951 Columbus vintage radio cabinet. The preamp tubes are 12AX7 and 12AU7 and the output tube is EL84. It delivers about 3Wrms at 1KHz into an 8 inch speaker. I would be interested in any comments, and ...

I think that it would be worthwhile to add amp repairs to our Directory listings.
If you all agree then send me the listing to add.

My Planet waves are still going after about 15 years. They are used regularly at church. I always keep them coiled & don't do anything special to look after them.

Re: Tube amp techs in Auckland?

Reviving an old thread with a new question. I gave my Gallien Kruger bass amp to my son in Auckland, and it’s developed a fault. Who would you guys recommend for taking something like that to? He’s in Three Kings/Mt Roskill. Thanks Maybe email these guys as they're the importer in NZ: https://music...

This is pretty exciting! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VtVT93r1sI A lot of interesting devices come out but I can't help feeling that the manufacturers are just trying to reinvent the wheel. I've had my Korg Pandora Stomp for years and they are a totally underrated unit, it's great as a tuner &a...
