Re: Do you remove the trem cover on your Strat?

I need an option that says “I leave it on until the first time I need to take it off, then I never put it back on again - no reason”

Re: Tube amp techs in Auckland?

This is a solid state amp, right? Might narrow the Auckland field a bit since some amp techs prefer to stick to valve/tube stuff. If you get stuck and can’t find anyone I might be able to walk you through a few tests you can do yourself. Might end up being something you can handle on your own with ...

Re: Tube amp techs in Auckland?

Maybe email these guys as they're the importer in NZ: https://musicbiz.co.nz/ Nah it’s quite old, I’m sure it wouldn’t be worth going to the importer. You could try reading this list! https://www.nzguitars.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=41696 Thanks, but all the Auckland listed are guitar repai...

Re: Tube amp techs in Auckland?

Reviving an old thread with a new question. I gave my Gallien Kruger bass amp to my son in Auckland, and it’s developed a fault. Who would you guys recommend for taking something like that to? He’s in Three Kings/Mt Roskill. Thanks Maybe email these guys as they're the importer in NZ: https://music...

Re: VHNGD - '72 Strat

An early guitar influence of mine was a teacher who played a Strat like this into a JC120 and a single distortion pedal (maybe Boss HM2) - I thought it was amazing.

Re: Bass effects!

I'm wanting a good envelope filter. I've been researching and there seems to be quite a difference between what they do. I would like one that sounds funky - the 'pop/quack' sound, but not lose all the bottom end. I would appreciate opinion from my learned forumites. What are you guys using and why...

I’ve ordered 3 different covers this year and they’re all great and his service is the best.

Re: Show us your pedalboard

My set up for a pub gig on Saturday. Loving the supro delta king. Expression pedal to control delay volume on the space echo and the sustain pedal is a tap tempo for my trusty old dd5 (which didn’t get used). Really happy with the pedalboard, only can see a Wah in the future - but I have a plan for...

This is a good thing to check. I had a pedal I thought was faulty, but it just wanted its own power supply even though there should have been plenty of juice available in the set up. Gave it a separate power supply and it was fine.

Surely you mean Jack Black? Jack White looks unwell to me. Jack Black - now there's a whole lot of pretty.

Re: When you dislike your own music?

This topic interests me. I've always had this sense that I should be writing music - I've done a fair bit of parts of songs, and actually finished a few. But the only outlet I've really completed songs for is electronic where a few main motifs go a long way. Speaking of a few main motifs... There's...
