Re: Les Paul Advice?

If its the colour and grain you have always wanted then buy it. If its a mid 90s Les Paul then buy it. If its your 30th , then buy it!!!

Re: Japanese 335. Yamaha or?

The thing with the ES style guitar is that they are almost always made from Laminate as some say, or Ply as others do. Most have a centre block made from pine/ cheaper wood. Some mahogany, they are cheap to make as the actual wood content it low. the real part that is hardest about them is th...

Re: Japanese 335. Yamaha or?

I love my Gretsch. They are a slow burn type guitar. Once bitten hard to let go.

$1700 is getting up there.

Re: Clip on tuners?

I've lost about 4 now. So I just buy the joyo ones from cheese boy, cheap and cheerful and work as well as any others I've tried. I find it pretty hard to cork sniff tuners :) Ha, I have a Peterson Strobe on the pedalboard and a Seiko clip on the Acoustic. both Painfully accurate. But don't tell an...

Re: Semi-hollow guitars w/ centre block - Options?

Have a look for a Gibson ES333. They only made them in 2003. Basically a 335 without the gloss finish and no pickguard. It has the centre block. I liked mine so much I got a second one.

Re: Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Standard VOS + 9 Iconic LP R

Once you have played a Historic LP its hard to go back. They really are different from the rest. I have owned my R7 for over 11 years now and very few LPs come close to it. I still have a few LP standards, but they tend to be unloved under the bed these days. The big fat neck on the R7 is a great fi...
