Re: Okay, recommend me an amp...

In all seriousness, a Pod XT or similar generation pod would cost you $200 and it's instant chug anytime you want (on headphones). Given it's only for home use, this is what would make sense to me. Your budget is too low for a nice clean amp IMO. Maybe a Peavy classic 30 if you can find one. Or of c...

Re: Tech 21 Trademark 60-Love or Hate?

I had the 1x12 and it was great but I'd rather have a classic 30 or 50, probably especially a 50.

Re: I'm After A Delay Pedal That:

That Eventide seems the bollocks. Little bit pricey for me though - about $300 is max for me. Does Red Witch have a New Zealand connection? Listening to their Titan delay demo, and that dude is a Kiwi and has NZ as their location : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALa4c915umg&list=PL5460...

I'd say even $2k would be good going, market is definitely fucked. Don't sell now.

Dexter mods - thoughts?

I'm interested in getting a TS808 style pedal for angering my amps a bit. Has anybody heard/got this pedal by Dexter mods? Is his stuff all its cracked up to be (i.e. like a vintage TS808)?

Re: Some Vox wah action - Handwired vs BBW

Our guitarist has the old school one - it's a really sweet sound, not in your face like a cry baby or the BBW. The BBW is the best wah I've heard, though I haven't heard a Teese irl yet. I might keep the BBW I have for sale on TM, they really are a great wah. I got mine after hearing Sam from Luger ...

Re: How to get the most out of a double hotcake?

FWIW I have had a double hotcake for about 3 or maybe 4 years now, and it's an essential part of my board (running into an AC15 with a blue). I use the bluesberry (right) as my main slight breakup sound - basically the sound of the amp turned up louder (but at reasonable volume). I use the hotcake (...

Re: Powered speakers/Digital rigs

This might sound dumb, but are most (all?) PA speakers considered FRFR? I would imagine that they wouldn't be tuned as much to any specific band of frequencies like a guitar speaker would be, because they're designed to handle a wide range of inputs? Yes, correct. They are designed to produce all f...

Re: Powered speakers/Digital rigs

Hey guys, Lately I've been considering selling my amp/pedals and changing to a digital rig. It will save some money, take up less room and the PA will double as amplification for my acoustic playing. I already have an Eleven Rack but I may upgrade to an Axefx... Not sure yet. Now, as far as speaker...

Re: Barber gain changer

Tip: don't go past 12 o'Clock on the gain, use it for crunch and boost, not for saturation.
Yep that's right. It is not a "turn it all the way up" pedal at all. In fact it sucks for that. It's a really nice light drive - does that beautifully. Took me a long time to really get the...

Re: Barber gain changer

Obviously amp dependent but I still prefer my double hotcake over anything else I've tried for these tones. And it is literally two pedals in one, rather than one really great one and a boost or something. I use both sides as though they are two pedals - the right is my main low gain tone, the left ...

Re: Let's talk about in-ear monitors

I have been on in-ears exclusively (whenever I can possibly help it) for about 6 years now. We use a Sennheiser system comprising 4 x IEM300s, an aerial wireless signal booster and we all have our own preference for actual earphones (though no one in the band uses the bottom rung earphones that come...
