Re: Your Mt Rushmore of Guitar Players

Steve Jones Steve Diggle Steve Lipson Stevie Shears No Steve Stevens? We were talking about this guy at work the other day. The 'classic rock' radio station that's always on plays multiple Billy idol songs every day. I guess through the osmosis of constantly hearing it I came to realize that Steve ...

Re: Show Us Your Guitar

After adding a Bigsby to my Coronet, I was inspired to add a trem back onto my Olympic. Before; IMG_20241002_144120.jpg After; IMG_20241002_153848.jpg After an enjoyable week of suffering through a hurricane and only getting power back this morning the Maestro trem arrived in the post. The guitar ha...

Re: How many watts is your home/bedroom amp?

Is there a speaker and amp inside it to make the noise or how else does it work?!?!!??!? I have no idea. I'd assume some form of witchcraft. Just measured it, 350 watts apparently. Impressive! How long was the tape measure you needed to use???? What you need to understand with tonal wattage is it's...

I'm pretty sure you can guess what I'm going to suggest you bolt onto the face of that guitar!
A Floyd Rose?

Re: Recommend me a P90

I have a Lollar in my 64 Jr. it’s great. Don’t overlook Gibsons current production too. They’re v good. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PU90UDEBC2--gibson-accessories-p-90-dogear-underwound-guitar-pickup-black I've liked every Gibson P90 I've owned/ played, it seems to be a pickup they've m...

Recommend me a P90

I've been toying with introducing a humbucker to the Epiphone Coronet but after cranking it through my rig I've realized that under overdrive the P90 sounds great and that's kind of the whole point of a Coronet. It's clean tone however is a bit undesirable. It's very muddy. I'm mostly using guitars ...

Re: GrantB..... The devil made me do it!!!!

Love me a Bigsby. Make's a typical LP pretty damn heavy though. Here's my old 2000 Sapphire Blue LP with Bigsby that I sold to a member here. It was reasonably light from memory. Yeah, I'd put a Bigsby on pretty much everything given half a chance. I put one on my LP trad which was already a bit of...

GrantB..... The devil made me do it!!!!

It's always nice when a box like this shows up in the mail; IMG_20240921_123350.jpg I've been meaning to do this for a while so it got installed on to this; IMG_20240921_123318.jpg It certainly helps compensate any neck dive. I'm kind of toying with installing a humbucker, either a filtertron or a m...

Re: What's on your work bench?

20240916_095410.jpg Had this Martin D16 on the bench. Came in with a punched in side/ split. I was surprised by the thinness of the wood. Very fragile. It was a nervous operation getting the depressed section back into its natural position but got there in the end. Formed a brace out some old Maton...

Re: 2015 MIM 50's Stratocaster FSR special edition Apple Green.

That looks awesome! How many of these guitars are you planning to bring back with you? I love the look of this one. Danny, if we make it back and I've still got this, it's yours! I'm having a successful wee month in trades but I have some more trading to do so I can't promise this one will stick ar...
