Re: 1963 Teisco SD-4L
They're both beefy but the blue one is an absolute monster. There's no evidence of a truss rod on that one so I'd assume it only has a steel bar inside the neck. Despite that it's stayed straight in its 63+ years of life.

Re: 1963 Teisco SD-4L
Good job! I am so looking forward to getting a Hound Dog Taylor guitar off you when you get back to NZ! But you know that already. Pity that ones not the Hound Dog colour. I've been mulling the idea of trying to build one. I've got the guitars to make templates from and I could fix all those design...

IMG_20240327_155436.jpg After only a year I've finally finished it. Refret, inlays, tuners, bridge, paint, bigsby style trem arm, Mustang style switching system. I decided to upgrade all things that are an issue with most Teisco guitars namely the frets and intonation. It plays a million times bett...

Re: That BF Super Reverb at Cadenza…..?
The impression I got from some of his friends is that he doesn't actually need to be in business. Oooo.... Intriguing! I know he used to have some pro looking photos of himself up on the wall behind the counter. I wonder if he wrote one absolutely awful number 1 hit ( that he'd never admit to) and ...

Re: That BF Super Reverb at Cadenza…..?
The rare times I've been on K road I've popped in to the shop. When asked the price of an item in there Eds reply was usually 'what do you think it's worth?' I have no idea how he stays in business. I bought and sold a bunch of stuff with him back when he was in Takapuna. He seemed to have an easier...

Re: Do you remove the trem cover on your Strat?
Your honey trap for homeless people for your bum fights video series has been uncovered finally I see! Wasn't that how we first met? Or was it that necro porn shoot we did together? The band I'm currently in practices at the drummers house. He's 40, lives alone and has that whole overflowing ashtra...

Re: Large Headstocks on Strats
Apart from being able to fit a bigger logo on, is there any actual point to having a larger headstock? That was pretty much the reason for them. The black script shows up better on TV too. I've always liked them. My formative guitar years were the early 90s. I liked 'vintage' guitars back then and ...

Re: Late 70s Strats - thoughs?
Not a Strat but this is currently on Vintage guitars and gear NZ on FB. They're a bit of a cool kid indie guitar and they apparently sell at about 4K USD so this could be some pretty sharp buying.

Re: Late 70s Strats - thoughs?
I've owned a 76 and a 79 during my time and all the negative comments above completely relate to those two guitars.
