Re: Belated NGD and NBD - but they are xmas presents to me ;)

Those sub4s are great basses. I spent some time in the RS one time playing musicmans, was considering a backup bass and wanted to see what the fuss was with a $3.5k musicman bass. Played it for a few minutes wasn’t really getting it, then grabbed a sub 4 to compare with something cheaper, and that s...

Re: Seeing out 2020

I'll be seeing 2020 out the same way I saw it in, gigging up in Stillwater. Its a good chill place to play, with a crowd that likes to dance, family friendly, and cheap food and drinks. Bellbird is still sick, so think I might be rocking the LP and the AFD100 this time round. Here's some shameless s...

I reckon that looks ok, I’d totally put an arm contour on a Tele if I ever end up with one.

Re: BOSS Waza-Air headphones

Cheers Ed,

Cracked open the tone studio and found it had some clean boost and a bit of delay (dst-3000) added. I didn’t play with the effects at all, so not sure how they got there.

Re: Looking for a valve bass head

I had one of those and it was awesome. not quite the real thing, but into an SVT810 it had the whole block rattling. Real nice warm breakup as you dug in too. Mine was imported from the US and Clarry converted the power to run on 240v. I don't recall him being dismissive about the build quality at a...

Re: BOSS Waza-Air headphones

Another Waza air question - or this might be more of a Katana question. The Lead tone patch must have a few effects in there. A little bit of delay? some reverb? some compression? Without the obvious answer of Get a Katana, where do I get a rough breakdown of what I need to add to get a similar tone...

Re: Looking for a valve bass head

yeah, those rumbles are good. Current and previous bass players in my band both used the previous series Rumble 350s - 2x10, plenty of grunt to them. I'd be getting one of those new 500s too though, mostly for the compactness and weight. I do miss my old Ampeg rig, but it just took up too much space...

Re: Volume dropping out

Well put the tube back in, that one has a lot more wiggle than the others, which feel firmer in place, but the hum was gone for a short play.

Re: Volume dropping out

Finally had some time to look, (been doing 12+ hr days all week with issues at work).

Bit of extra hum with nothing plugged in which isn’t normal, tapping the tubes gave a good crackle from the preamp tube nearest the fuse.

Don’t know if I have WD40, probably just CRC and Singer sewing machine oil.

Re: BOSS Waza-Air headphones

I got mine the other day. I haven't had a chance to connect to the Waza app yet. They sound great! I agree about the directional thing- it's actually pretty annoying, especially as music Bluetoothed into seems to do the same thing. The manual is complete crap. Just use the presets that don't use th...

Re: BOSS Waza-Air headphones

I’ve had a WL 50 for about 18 months now, and have used it for every gig / band practice since getting it. If you’re a/b and you’re picky you’ll notice it’s not quite 100% of a lead, but close enough and the trade off is well worth it. It WiFi based I think, so range similar to that, I can walk anyw...
