Re: String gauge - does size matter?

I'm glad that there was no nerve damage etc... how did you do it? Yeah, thanks Danny! That was bit of a nervy conversation. Just fell very awkwardly while skating at the park just by our house! I feel your pain. Jordy fell off her one at the beginning of the year. She was in a cast for 10 days and ...

Re: String gauge - does size matter?

Thanks Simon - how's the arm? What was the outcome? First week post-op has gone pretty well, thanks Danny. I can now close my fist again and grab things gently with my left hand so that’s all positive. I broke something in the radial of my left elbow, and essentially compressed the whole elbow join...

Re: String gauge - does size matter?

Without certainly being any kind of authority on it, I imagine it might be a somewhat common thing to do with the scale length. I can’t really remember when I started doing it to be honest, but it’s worked well for my playing!

Re: String gauge - does size matter?

11’s on Gibsons, 10’s on Fenders, and 12’s on the Martins for me. Generally means I can dig in a bit on any, have to work a bit more for bends (which I like), and swap between all, particularly live, with very little fuss in having to adjust how I play

Re: Effects issue

Yeah, I’d try loop 1 using a pedal that works fine in another loop, including it’s patch cables. Just to eliminate that first. But it sounds likely it could be what Voxshall has said about the pre/post gain settings.

Re: Show us your pedalboard

After a month or so of deciding what I was going to shuffle around or change I’ve got to this point. DD-7 swapped out for a Walrus Audio ARP-87, and my gain section changed. I’m using the same stacking idea as my last setup but with different pedals. Signal goes into the JHS Minifoot fuzz first up, ...

Re: Show us your pedalboard

Tweaked the acoustic pedalboard and managed to crap it all on in one layer, much easier to fit in the case now. Feat pedalboard tape from Mark at guitarshed - I'm never using velcro again, pedalboard tape is a thousand times better. https://scontent.fakl1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/89287990_209229411...

Re: Show us your pedalboard

We started tracking the new album a couple of weeks ago and I’ve been feeling like changing up my gain stage sounds a bit. Not something I do very often, but I’ve been looking at some options. I like about three pedals typically that give me light OD, heavier OD and a boost, and will often throw in ...

Fender for basses, Gibson for guitars... you know it makes sense! No grey areas :D Its a digital fact!
Although I don't actually own any fenders or gibsons :D
That’s ok. Haven’t I told you I don’t actually play guitar at all?!
I’m here for the bants.
