Re: Are you still chasing something?

Exactly what Oleg said. My last purchase was a desire to 'rescue' a guitar and it will cost me dearly.  Back in 2020, I had a moment that changed my GAS patterns probably for ever. Having been told quietly by the medical people that I might have seen my last Xmas, I found myself looking ...

While I'm in the saddle...

Sa1500 Bridge.jpg Looking at that photo, I'll swear someone's plucked a gerbil in there. Who had it last.......Jay?!! Anyway, there's not much break angle on the strings and I had a clever thought to route the strings underneath the trem body. But looking at it as I type I think I see a flaw in my ...

Re: Opinions: What's the right price?

A story to share. It was supposed to be simple. It wasn't. I asked your opinions on price so I could average the replies and establish a figure. Strummers gave me a speaker (Ragun Cajun) and proved obstinate regarding payment telling me to 'pay it forward'. So I will. The average price of the Jensen...

The EQ thread

EQ.jpg The GE-7 has long been an essential part of my rig. Last week in Taranaki, the most excellent Crowbgood1 gave me a parametric eq to play with; never met one before. It's a totally different beast; very smooth, hifi quality, the guitar comes out sounding produced . In comparison, the GE-7 sou...

Re: Is this going to work?

Janvox2.jpg Janvox1.jpg I realise this might traumatise more sensitive souls so viewer discretion is advised: Never seen this before and it works a treat! So now, as well as a functioning AC4 I have a Jansen powered 1x10 Greenback cab. Tight, midrange focus, not too much bass and when pushed, much ...

Re: Whats on your amp workbench?

I was A/Bing it against a 10" Alessando '59 Alnico. Cajun was good, louder and much fuller in lows, def better say in a band situation. But with my Strat and PR (abd no band) it was too bassy for me, sounds more like a 12" to my ear. AA1164 PR is a bassy amp IMHO! But horses for courses a...
