Next moved onto a Calsboro Cobra which was surprisingly excellent considering ss. There was a period around 1980 when I had a small Carlsbro ss combo ( little tune up amp ) and used it driven by a Coloursound Overdriver on numerous sessions. Sounded f'in great in a track... Blindfold test you'd swe...

Some hideous home made ss thing called The Coffin. Only extreme youth and ignorance combined with a fistful of holiday job dollars could ever have resulted in such an abomination.
From that baseline, a Fender Princeton Chorus seemed amazing.

You're doing the Lord's work. I've always maintained that an MIM with the subsequent hand-time put in (proper fretwork, rolling the edges, fine tuning the nut slot and setup etc) will play and sound as good as any other strat at 5x the price. There's a video where a man from the Fender Custom shop ...

I have a guitar that feels like the frets are too low. But when measured, they're within .1mm of instruments that feel fine. Any insight into what's happening here?
