Someone somewhere for reasons known only to themself, removed one of the two coils from each pickup.

I dunno.... Think about it for a moment. You've got a neck that's partly fretted and partly fretless. I'm not saying Jay's expression is the ideal design but as a concept I think it's interesting.

I think it is an Eric Johnson--US made. My fave US Strat. But for some stupid reason I sold it.
