Re: Driving a 4x12 with a battery powered amp

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkSy0wsvRhE Wondering if my Marshall MS-4 would drive a 4x12, I plugged the headphone out into the cab but there was hardly much volume being generated. Opening it up to investigate, I found a resistor across the headphone terminals to pad it down. Once clipped out, ...

Re: Aspiration

90% of what I play is trying to arrange band pieces for a single guitar. Currently working on Wicked Game and This Must Be The Place. Then sometimes I just turn on a bunch of pedals and make noise. This is me also. Currently working on Goodnight my Angel and and Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Mandolins...

Aspiration

At any given moment, we all have things we play, songs, phrases, whatever. And we play them for different reasons. Some are the things we're currently working on while others are of old acquaintence. Which are yours? The old comfy slippers and the cool new stuff. I'll start. Comfy electric: Sultans ...

Re: Nitro spraying advice

The compressor and spraying is going well! Coming out really thin and even. The colour was aiming to be quite an aged white, but is closer to NOS Olympic White. Haven't put clear coats on yet. Was thinking about a faint amber/yellow tint to the clear coats. Seems highly risky. I'm probably not goin...

Re: Has Aria lifted their game or they better stock now more available?

Tis indeed, sir. (Via Oleg's Emporium) Gorgeous guitar, but like yourself, struggling a bit with HB's, even with the PAF Seth's. Tempted to go down the filtertron route with it. I swing wildly with Humbuggies. When I have some, I can never make them work for me. When I don't have any, I'm sure they...

Re: Has Aria lifted their game or they better stock now more available?

This. Aria Pro ii's are especially nice guitars. I have one of these from their platinum series. Japanese made and absolutely flawless. I'd comfortably put this against a 335 that costs nearly 3 times as much. images.jpeg 2016-11-20 16.04.57_preview.jpeg Is that my old one? Tis indeed, sir. (Via Ol...

Re: Has Aria lifted their game or they better stock now more available?

Has Aria lifted their game Not sure what you mean. In my experience they always made decent guitars for the money. Just need the tuners, nut and electrics upgraded. This. Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!

My Epiphone Riviera as received from the factory, has the middle pickup set lower than the others to alleviate this issue. I also tend to use the middle pickup volume control more as a tone control by blending the volume with the others - it can take out some of the potential ice pickiness of the b...

Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!

I really like it also. Apparently the three pickup thing is not good though for playing “in the moment” -One always has to be aware of where the pick is. I had a three pickup Firebird (2 actually) that had three pups and it was a pain. I know all about picks bouncing off pickups  The lack of ...

Re: Return of the Gibson shocker thread!

I like that. Except it's red and has two too many pickups. I'm a tolerant man, I could live with the red. I really like it also. Re: number 28

I primarily build for the simple joy of doing it. I have given away a few instruments and sold about 6 so far. The thing with building on commission is that you have to have skills up to a point were everything is predictable. This is my main reason for not being into that yet. for example, I am st...
