Re: Best DAW for beginner

Reaper. Free trial for as long as you want (I paid after using for over 5 years),easy to get started. I'm no expert so don't know how much it can do, but definitely isn't a trimmed down starter daw that you'll have to upgrade from after a while.

This is a few years old, has grown slightly since but is also missing quite a few that are loaned out

Re: Recent NGD - Gibson 25/50 LP

Awesome. Love the super 400 inlays. Hard to get one of these south of 10k NZD nowadays. I bet the neck is more chunky than the SG2000? Yeah prices on reverb are super high now, got this for much less, not really a collector piece due to non original parts and some cosmetic damage, so was a little n...

I like the look of the back of the neck
Yeah nice 5 piece flame maple, but don't really see the back that often. Fortunately I think the front looks pretty decent as well.

Re: Recent NGD - Gibson 25/50 LP

Holy shit - look at the size of that control cavity - imagine how much you could stash…. No I didn't notice that - do you have any pics of inside the cavity? :-) Missing the ashtray cover, but think the rest may be original (I'm no expert). The massive cavity is to fit the mini coil split switch, t...

Re: Recent NGD - Gibson 25/50 LP

Super sweet. How did you get it home? He hid it in his large control cavity! :mental: Had discussed that otpion, but it would take a bit of lube and 10hour flight may be a little too long. The store had plenty of experience packaging to ship overseas, so the dude padded out the case, chucked in a b...

Yeah tobacco burst, but possibly a darker brown than normal. My photos probably don't do it justice.

Recent NGD - Gibson 25/50 LP

Visited Japan a few weeks back and had to bring back a souvenir. Eventually decided to spend much more than initially planned by getting something super cool (in my opinion) rather than just another guitar Found that ishibashi online prices are 20% above what you can get in store if you take your pa...

Re: Taking a guitar to and from Australia: Any CITES issues ?

I just bought a guitar through customs, declared it as both wood and more than $700 etc and got sent to the 2nd level customs gate and they weren't interested in it. 8am on a Tuesday, so might have just been CBF vibe, as they looked relatively happy to stay seated and wave me through.

Re: Anybody else import from Online or use Reverb?

Thomann charges nz gst on checkout (anything doing over 60k or 80k per year of nz sales is supposed to) but if you pass the 1k nzd mark they refund the gst and you need to sort it with customs/shipping company on arrival, so getting an importer code and think a further 50 bux processing fee, no big ...

Re: Noob metal guy questions

Agree with the 11-56 d'addarios for drop c on Gibson scale. I like that the g (well f) isn't thick as fuck like in most of the 11-54 sets around. So many good passives around for lower tunings, I've got a bkp warpig in my Gibson sg, lace dissonant aggressors in yamaha sg, someother bkps and rail ham...

Had a "fender stratocaster" listed for like 300 with no headstock pics then abused anyone telling him that it's not a fender. I see he's now using his real name that comes up with lots of results in google regarding fraud
