Re: Guitar Racks?
If you like DIY, you can build yourself one quite easily. My brother and I built matching ones out of recycled timber from the house we grew up in. Fun experience! For padding we added a layer of foam (chopped up yoga mats) with some nice blue felt upholstered overtop. Am out of town currently but ...

No experience there but a band mate or I could be keen on the LT if you decide to move it on.
Re: HD500X
Second hand gt100 units pop up pretty cheap, if there are any about you could probably sell the HD and have a gt100 for similar money
Re: HD500X
Years ago, before I worked for BOSS, I was looking to use an HD500X for effects only (no amp modelling) but found it to have an ENORMOUS amount of tone suck and noise issues when used in this manner. (as a standalone modeller/FX unit, it was great!) I instead ended up with a BOSS GT100, which worke...

Re: Where's my old Ash Custom?
Ed sold this to me a few years back (pms have been exchanged), it’s still by far my nicest guitar playing and sound wise. I also have a radian 7 string and a couple of mates have some of Adrian’s handiwork as well, I’d be all over another one if he was still in the business. Thinking about having a ...

Re: Advice needed - acoustic electric
If I were you I'd buy a sound hole pickup and slap it in for the wedding. Will work just fine. This is what I originally thought but there were a lot of options and then I slid into new guitar territory... I might go to the acoustic shop and have a look tomorrow anyway, then I’ll have a better idea...

Something like this would be perfect I reckon, there just doesn’t seem to be much around on the used market.KNNZ wrote:I’d go for a used Maton
I sold my old EM325C for about $800 with Maton Hardcase. Loved it and had it for about 5 years only sold it to buy a Martin

Re: Advice needed - acoustic electric
I forgot about music planet, definitely worth a look I reckon - it looks like they have some of the same series in stock.
Normally I try to look second hand first but there’s stuff all around acoustic wise, the time of year probably doesn’t help.

Advice needed - acoustic electric
Frankly this is not an area I have much experience in but I know a few of you gents have spent a fair bit of time with acoustic guitars. I’m playing my sister down the aisle at her wedding in a month or so and I’m thinking a new acoustic with electrics in it is easier than retrofitting my somewhat a...

Re: Quick AC adaper question
Both options, yeah. Cant beat the convenience of a nice round plastic jack though, shame Jaycar don't do one.

Re: Quick AC adaper question
DSE did a nice plastic DC jack when they were still around and carrying some components, haven't seen anything similar from an NZ supplier but I'm sure they are available somewhere (I've just run out so I'd be interested to know)?
Otherwise you can isolate the metal jack but it's a bit of a pain tbh.

Re: Anyone just love making cables?
To be honest the hardest part was figuring out which wire to solder to which part on the din jack, couldn't find a pinout or schematic anywhere.
Have you worked that out yet?

Re: Anyone just love making cables?
I made one for my old rectoverb, was only 5din but wasn't really any more difficult than making up a mic cable (I also hate making cables though so I'm not going to volunteer haha). From memory I picked up the multicore cable and din jack from jaycar, they probably have suitable materials for an 8di...
