Exactly.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

might wanna check the impedance of the cab you are using. that might be the issue
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Nope. Both 16 ohm. And it detonated on standby. It was still warming up.

Yeah, it would and I have thought about it. But I actually have more amps than I need already. The Wangs was just an amp for pennies that proved much better than expected.
Until it tried to burn down my house of course.

I wasn't kidding when I said the smoke escaped.

Because I was distracted on Saturday, the Matamp sold for considerably less than I would have paid for it.**
So fixing the Wanger is back on the agenda. I'm going to get it re-wound without the 110v section for which I see no purpose.
Wish me luck!

Oh and it's always comforting to know the power transformer sacrificed itself to save the fuse.

** Yes, I'm aware this bears no similarity to my previous comments on the subject.
Things change, OK?

No. A fairly robust one. Actually, I suspect it was bypassed in the circuit.

I don't know why people do that, when tinfoil is readily available and can be wrapped around the blown fuse easily ;)

p.s. don't do that at home kids.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Obviously the correct way to do it is to strip some wire and take a couple of strands, wrap them around the ends of the fuse and pray that its enough to save your amp should the worse happen.

p.s. only try that at a gig kids! Never at home.

Most women learnt early on to not trust men with small wangs.

Yeah, me too. When they've all blown its time to break out the backup amp/di. You know fuses don't blow through old age ;)
