Can I have yours for the same price I paid for the Wangs?
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

Why not get the transformer rewound by Brian Smith.
My experience of chinese wound transformers is that they are hit and miss.
Interesting idea.
It’s the 12BH7 version.
So what would that be likely to cost? I was thinking that if it’s salvageable, the transformers don’t have to fit. I’d happily build a new box to fit it all in.

You would have to ask him that.
But I have found his excellent work inexpensive.

Lol you might want to re-examine how much of the things in your life are Asian made before you make that statement. What is this, 1998?

Unsure. If you saw the thing you’d understand.
My guess is power, but the output was seriously hot as well.

Ed, Boss should look at building this thing properly. It’s a Chinese design, so perfectly in order to steal it entirely.

Whatever the route chosen, I imagine its cheaper to buy a new one than repair the existing, but at least with a repair you might have some guarantee it will last...

might be fixed under warranty maybe ?

that little tranny wouldn't cost that much to replace.
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Ahum, the coming school holidays will see a serious attempt to get the chassis populated with all the components and then test drive it.... with a Swiss guitar or so
