I'm going to make image uploading easier! restrictions were in place about 5 years ago due to bandwidth, nowadays we can have all the bandwidth we want

Its sponge tape, I had one in my hands.TmcB wrote:Looks like the same heat-transferring cement/paste they’re used under that Transistor for the power scaling so might not be so shabbysizzlingbadger wrote:
Relay stuck to the chassis with tape in that one too, why would they do that ? its just so lazy.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

Yeesh...that’s pretty dire. The least Vox sounding amp in the history of amps. Toany would love all the dials and relentless fiddling!jeremyb wrote:Mk V might be another option?TmcB wrote:Have dallied with that possibility for years.GrantB wrote:

Re: Any "forever" amps?
Will probably keep my SLO100 forever. Their longtime transformer supplier Deyoung won't be making audio transformers anymore. Mike has also closed his own facility. So they'll all be OEM'd with different transformers from now on.
Kind of regretting selling the HR50+, it was sold not too long before the news.
Amps:
Soldano SLO100 x2 | Wizard MC1 & MC2 | Diezel Herbert
Fryette Pittbull CL | Marshall 2203KK | Krank Rev 50 | Mesa Mark 2A
Rack stuff:
VHT/Fryette GP3, GP/DI & 2/90/2 | Peters FSM/Chimera
Verellen Meatsmoke | Synergy SYN1 | Mesa Studio

Re: Any "forever" amps?
do you think it may be done to isolate the component from earth or eddy currents or something
seems too odd to just be random

I’m guessing that due to the shape and position there wasn’t much to really attach it to in a PTP waykwhelan wrote:do you think it may be done to isolate the component from earth or eddy currents or something

Re: Any "forever" amps?
No, they should have designed a proper PCB for all the relays, that also allowed the resistors to sit properly. Perhaps the channel bridging option was an afterthought ?kwhelan wrote:do you think it may be done to isolate the component from earth or eddy currents or something

Re: Any "forever" amps?
As I think someone else mention on here I love my Fender Supersonic 22, it just does what I want and has been very flexible too.
I’ve been through a multitude of amps over the years including:
Marshall Tsl100
Mesa Single Rectifier
DSL401
Laney LH50
Peavey Classic 30
Blackstar HT40
Mesa Stiletto Duece
Mesa Triple Rectifier
Marshall DSL 50 with C12 and choke mod (That amp was great!)
Vox AC30 C2 (Creambacks)
Vox AC30 HW2X (Blues)
Fender Supersonic 22
The only thing is that I wish I had the head version and 2x12 cab.
However this has now sent me down the rabbit hole looking into getting either a Fender Deluxe 5E3 or a Princeton?
