Waiting on the King of Tone
After 2 years of waiting, the day that my name comes up on the King of Tone list is drawing near. I put my name down in January 2017, the list is up to November 2016. Is anyone else on the waiting list or have one of these rarities in their collection?

Re: Waiting on the King of Tone
I thought this thread was going to be about serving me meals.
They keep telling me tone is in the fingers, but I have yet to see a "look at my fingers" thread.

I got one and had it for a decade now, I think that would be a good indication how much I love it. Works wonders with fender guitars into fender amps ymmv

I'm hoping so. I still haven't found my holy grail of overdrives yet.jeremyb wrote:It should be well worth the wait, the that pedal show guys love theirs!!

Re: Waiting on the King of Tone
Nice! And if it doesn't work out you can always sell it on Reverb for twice the price...
I've been watching far too much That Pedal Show. Loved the one where they compared the 4 Sunface Fuzz pedals. Sounded amazing. Typically the one I liked the most you can't get anymore. Except for crazy prices on Reverb.
Not many people with a bad word to say about the King of Tone so I'm sure you'll love it also. Exciting times. Looking forward to your review.

Re: Waiting on the King of Tone
I have a KoT. I’m not sure the secondhand value is really justified but it is an outstanding low gain overdrive. I would recommend getting the higher gain red channel - it’s not that much hotter and gives a moderate drive when in distortion mode. Definitely get the external 3 way switch. Also, if you use a loop controller (I use a Boss ES-5) get separate in & outputs for each channel - I wish mine had that.

interesting...this has been announced in the next Helix update. Still debating what they will call it.

Re: Waiting on the King of Tone
I'm a proud KOT owner and have been for many years. The secondhand prices are indeed silly, but it is indeed a fabulous pedal. Not getting rid of mine anytime soon.

In the throws of ordering bits to make one of these. The original diodes are a bit of a pig to find nowadays..

Shame they didn’t board mount the pots though - hate wiring up pots
